Few Pix I took today at Lalbagh flower show. Hope you like them

Wish I knew the names of the flowers :(

girish

Nice ones Girish, thanks for sharing. I also wanted to visit the show but just forgot completely :(

Beautiful shots. Thanks for sharing. I had gone there last year. Missed it this time.

Fantastic pictures @Girish. What's the gear used? I get a feeling that they're processed. Are they?

Went there on Sunday and the crowd was so huge that i hurried out of the glasshouse without caring to take any pics. If I had any doubts that our country wasn't overpopulated, this visit to Lalbagh removed all doubts.
Awesome pics by the way.

Nice pictures. I really like the orchids.

I used canon 400D + 200-400 lens. The processing is only resize, crop (from 900x600 -> 800x600) and sharpening (with unsharp mask). These are the processes I usually do with all my photos as I do not like doing sharpening in the camera itself. And, thank you very much for the comments.

What I do everytime is try to go there on a non-weekend. And, if its on a weekend (like last republic day), go there very early, before they even open the counters. Hey, I did save few bucks not having to buy the entry tickets too :)

PS: sorry, wanted to write this in the earlier msg itself.

Nice spider on the Hibiscus! Did you get to see any orange colored orchids?

You got me goose bumps with that "thing" on hibiscus!!! I feel something is crawling all over my body oooh!!!!

How good is Lalbagh these days? I used to visit sometimes during 2002 during my tenure at Bangalore & after 6:00 PM its no good for a family visit. Is it the same case now?

Me and wife visited the flower show today. The temparature was pleasant , so was the surroundings. I but dont know the case after 6PM, but there is good police presence these days [ the flower show time-frame ]

Though the number and amount of flowers (in and around glass house) this time is much less than earlier, other than that it remains the same. And, yes after six means, the chance of enjoying those colors are limited too :(

And, thats the first time I saw that kind of spider too. Thanks again nitin and RG

Last Sunday I had been to the Lalbaugh Flower Show. Here is a small photologue from the same.

Wanted to be there early morning, but eventually got there by 11:00 a.m..

Look at me

Bed of Flowers

Blue

Caught

There were lot of plants with vegetables on display as well. It looked kind of silly (veggies in a flower show) to me, but then I realised that it was a whole lot fun/learning for the kids.

Hanging

more to come...

The show had an enclosed area which was full of flowers and PEOPLE, I mean it was crowded (maybe I selected the wrong day).
