Soujourn in the Snow! (Himachal Pradesh)

Well I'm in Manali right now, the temperature is sub-zero and its stopped snowing a few days ago. Thought I'd share a few pics rather than bore you guys with stories. I flew to Delhi and got here by bus, so no roadtrip to talk about. Here are some pics around Manali. Will post more soon.

Fantastic pics! Share more for our enjoyment.
Did you encounter any snow on the way to Manali?
Did you go out for sightseeing? How was the experience?
Also write about you stay (quality of rooms of Hotel, food, etc).
Captioning the photographs will be helpful.

Yes I will upload more pics in a bit. We went to Solang Valley where there is lots of snowand you can go paragliding, skiiing, etc etc. I highly reccomend taking the cable car to the top and getting off there for a couple of hrs. Its fantastic!!

And yes...there is still lots of snow around here.

Hey NIP,

Really amazing pics you got here. These remind of me of Gulmarg. I had been there last Feb. Would love to know more about the accommodation, budget etc. Thanks again for the lovely pics. Cheers.

Re: Soujourn in the Snow! (Himachal Pradesh)

Fabulous Pictures. I have photographs so similar to the ones you have posted of solang valley and the route, then there was lesser snow.
Paragliding was good fun, for those moments the chills dont bother you.
Waiting for more.
Regards.

Thanks. About accomodation - you can find a plethora of places in Manali now, IMO ranging from around Rs.600 upwards. First day we spent in a Rs.600 room till we checked into Club Mahindra the next day, and the place though basic, had clean beds, hot water, heater and a fantastic view. So there is place for everyone in Manali.

To spend time in the evenings, I highly recommend the Johnsons cafes..there are two of them and both are superb with 2 fireplaces each. They are next to each other on the old Manali road, owned by two cousins I heard. Food serverd is also fabulous. They have acco also, but I couldn't check it out.
