laluks, your travelogues never cease to amaze, thanks for bringing out the lesser known places nicely! |
Thank you PearlJam.
Infact Vagamon, Kuttikkanam, and surroundings are so beautiful and is known to many, since it is near Thekkady the touristy headquarter.
Kuttikkanam falls in the Kottayam Kumily road. The area is known for the heavy fog and some 20Km of foggy driving.
Slightly off topic.
There is a gentleman who had been consistantly rating my threads terrible. I've been noticing this offlate, and I thought it to be an outlier in the initial instances. Now that I am getting it everytime - I just wanted to tell you one thing. Thank you.
If you could part with me what makes my logs so bad in your eyes, what could be done to make it better, it would be beneficial to me and ofcourse to all those who reads the same.
While I write this, I definitely know the gentleman as it is too predictable :D. Vanity is definitely somebody's favourite sin.
Will be back with the logs and pictures soon.
Laluks,
Your threads are one of the bests that I read here. Not only the pics, but also the amount of info you provide, make your travelogues truly outstanding. I really look forward to read your logs for a long time to come. I hope the ratings don't deter you from writing down your experiences.
Btw, just rated this thread 5-star. Actually it deserves more than that.

Thanks CliffHanger.
When TBHP gives us all such a nice platform, I will definitely continue to write :)
Hey Laluks,
You are like elephant of great travelogues and have inspired almost all of us . Your travels and pics are primary reason why we all hope that one day we would also travel to those lovely exotic places safely with our family. So there is no reason why you should be so concerned about this lone person. Forget it and continue to enlighten us as you are one of the reason why we get cars to escape such virgin places in India.

Totally. And rated it the same: 5 stars. Normally I would not post, would rather enjoy the pictures and writings; but this time took effort to show solidarity of thoughts.

Day03, 31.08.2010 Vagamon Heights
Woke up to a very refreshing day. The rains have completely stopped and for the first time in this trip the blue of the sky was visible. It was an amazing feeling.
PPGs were still sleeping. We let them relax and walked upto the reception area and had a hot cup of tea. Looked on towards the Moon Mountain, and decided to trek up there.
Trekking up the Moon Mountain By 08:00AM we have already reached the top of Moon Mountain. A Panorama Views from the Moon Mountain There was a resort on the side opposite to Vagamon Heights
Seems the resort is not functional Can you see the road? This takes you to Thodupuzha / Moolamuttom
The view of the property The lake you see is in the property. There we do boating.
This lake is also in the property. Here we do fishing.

Lalu chetta,
Superb photos and awesome locations. You have a knack of showing us the unseen beauty of Kerala clap:
I have been to Vagamon a couple of times few years back but it was just an express visit and now this thread will be the reason for me to go back :D
Great views from the Moon Mountain!
And coming to that lone ranger who is marking you down, I'm sure that he is definitely envious about your frequent travels!
My 5 stars added. Continue tripping & writing, You Rock!

Thanks lloydofcochin.
We normally whizz past all these places. Once you stop by to enjoy, you are overwhelmed by the beauty of Kerala. Indeed its Gods Own Country. He had showered her with all the beauty, and I sincerely wish to see her like that for a long time to come.
My small effort in writing and keeping this logs is to capture her beauty and to show it to the world, and for my kids when they grow up to recollect the small trips we had done together.
Day03, 31.08.2010 Vagamon Heights
We waited for the Jeep to take us back to the reception area.
Civvy resting happily Aye! Who goes there. The loyal Kaiser guards our Civvy Kaiser - an adorable doggy.
I badly miss my lovely lab Dashy a lot. We lost her to a Terminal Cancer on 21.02.2011
The fishing lake The muddy path towards the reception area

That's the spirit clap:
Superb effort. Keep it rolling!
I'm driving down to Kottarakkara on Saturday and I've almost fixed the route - Blr-Dindigul-Kambam-Kuttikanam. It is a day drive, so hopefully we will be able to enjoy the beauty coupled with an engaging drive. I just love driving in the ghats :D
