That said whenever you face such a no starting situation, open the bonnet, and then pump the black bulb. I will pull fuel from the tank even if there is partial clogging.
Many times glow plugs can heat the engine block, but water in the sedimeter netting freezes, and fuel has to be pulled a few times manually.
Zanskar gets very cold at night and is around 4000mts, so it would be a good idea for glow plug check before your trip.
Its covered under warranty
Yes, i do remember that and is on my to-do-list ever since . Definitely before Zanskar.

Yes, I am talking about the Banur Kharar road!
The toll plaza is not Rajpura toll plaza, but Shambhu border toll plaza.

Re: To the moon (lake) & back : Chandratal

Awesome is the word I have. Some queries:
  1. Is it possible to do this stretch in April as well?
  2. Would the road upto Chandratal be accessible this time of the year?
  3. Is it possible to do a Manali-Chandratal-Manali in 1 day.
  4. Or it would be good to do a Manali-Chandratal-Batal on Day 1, and then Batal-Manali on Day 2?

April will be impossible. Firstly, Rohtang is in a bad shape right now, and despite BRO's promise of opening up Rohtang by the 15th, it's quite difficult to do so. Secondly the slip road from the climb till Kunzum and the road uptill Batal itself from Gramphoo might be blocked by slippery glaciers. Only once the Rohtang is open, would they focus on the Manali-Kaza road.

So if i were you, i would plan this trip only by end of May.

I am planning to go to Chadratal in July-end (25th to 29th July). How would the road-conditions be by then?

Pretty bad. Expect deep water crossings, landslides etc., etc.,
