Dear BHPians

I just came across a pic of Primacy 3 ST Tyre posted by BK Tyres, Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi on their Facebook profile. The price of 195/65 R15 is Rs. 6000 as mentioned in the comment.

I'm unable to source data on the Sizes available and a search on Google & Michelin India website yielded nothing worthwhile. Might get in touch with Jitesh Bhaiya tomorrow and post further details.

Warm Regards

According to Michelin UK website, the Primacy 3 will replace the Primacy HP tyre. I am assuming the ST post-fix signifies "Summer Tyre" for use in countries with higher average temperatures like ours.

This is the replacement for both Primary LC and HP. And, at a super price!

The Michelin Primacy 3 ST is Summer Touring tyre :thumbs up

It replaces the Primacy LC (& HP which was anyway scarce in our market) & definitely is a notch above the Energy XM2 model.

Michelin confirm that the Primacy 3 ST’s wet braking distance is 1.6 metres shorter than the Primacy LC & will last 25% more than the LC.

Just now read on the net that ST stands for "Silent tuning".

This tyre is specifically designed for the Asia-Pac region's extreme weather and road conditions. The tyre will be available in 15 inches and higher for large and upper midsize vehicles only and replaces the Primacy LC and HP.

This pattern is a new tyre by Michelin. As of now it will be available in one or two big sizes.

Major sizes in 15" and 16" will be launched by the year end.

It does look like a great tyre on paper. The comfort and silence of PLC with a bit more of grip!

The tyre market is really hotting up! Yokohama has some new tyres up it's sleeve, Bridgstone has launched some new tyres and Michelin is following suit! Apollo also has it's Alnac and higher ranges available.

My suggestion to people is to wait for a couple of months till the dust settles and reviews start pouring in.

Edit: Forgot to mention that Continental also has a few aces up it's sleeve! I'm not sure about the timeline but a major company like Continental will not be left behind in this race for marketshare!

Nikhil, Will this tyre be launched in 14 inch size eventually ?

Nikhil, any luck for the Ford'ies who want the Michelin and need the rare 195/55 R15 tyres?

Khoj Ji, shall get your answers by Tuesday positively. Tomorrow (Monday) being a weekly off hence, won't get to meet him at the store.

Nikhil, thanks a lot for covering the other brands as well. Makes a lot of sense to me as the yet to come Ecosport (in case if it gets MRF), I shall have better options at my disposal for the choices.

No plan as of now. This will be only for 14" and above.

They also plan to release XM2 in some sizes in 15" so that customers can have the choice of PLc/P3ST and XM2.

Nothing as of now unfortunately. Best bet would be the Bridgestone MY02. Seems like a decent tyre.

Did you mean 15 inch and above?

Sweet. I love these low-resitance, super soft, silent and durable tires from Michelin. Always been a fan since the XM1 series. The LC is doing duty on a relative's Corolla and he is nothing but happy with the performance. I just hope the 3ST has better sidewall strength than the PLC - should make it a worthy upgrade.

Hi,
I was at BK tyres in Lajpat on 19th July (last Friday) and these tyres had just come in via a delivery van. Price mentioned was 6400 for 195/65/R15.
I got Primacy LC fitted that day for 5750 each.

Rgds

Interesting tires to consider for upgrade if they are available in 205/60 R16 for the Ecosport.

One of the main issues with Primacy LC has been the soft sidewall and the resultant sidewall damage. Any information on how 'strong' the sidewall of these new tires are ...in comparison to Primacy LC and continental CPC 2 ?
