Are you on stock wheel/alloy? If so, tyres should not protude from well. I upgraded to 6.5J alloy and 195/60R15 P3ST on 4th Gen Honda City and tyres do protude from the well marginally.

Also, the spare tyre does fit in the boot but the increased width will keep the platform a bit raised.

My 2011 ANHC has covered 48000 km; the stock Michelin XM1 could have lasted atleast for another 5000 km but for a sharp metal piece which pierced the front RHS tyre and rendered it useless.

I am now contemplating upgrade to 195/60 on alloys. I have finally zeroed down to Michelin Primacy or Michelin XM2. Would like to have users/ experts opinion, pl advise.

For alloys, most of designs are available in 6.5 J; Michelin recommends rim width between 5.5 J to & 7 J with an ideal size of 6J. Has anyone installed 6.5 J rims, do they cause any problems with the suspension/ steering/ scrap wheel well ?

So after some days, I have booked a City VX AT Silver for expected delivery on Sunday. The OEM tyres on my specific car are Bridgestone 175/65 R15 alloys (steel in spare wheel).

Most people here recommend 195/60 15 even for the moderately adventurous. I am not that but I am strongly inclined towards upgrading if it gives a material benefit (cost is not an issue for replace/upgrade). My driving will be 5000 km/year so if I go with 175/65 R15 it could be 5-6 years for their life which is too long to live with the OEM size (175/65 15) which has been roundly panned here and elsewhere.

So if you were sort of a conservative person who likes a better ride/grip/maneuver/plushness than with the stock tires, would you upgrade. My preference is Bridgestone or Yokohama (but not Michelin). I have used Bridgestone and am quite happy with them on 3 sets so far.

Honestly, looking at your usage of 5000 km/year, you can use the stock tyres. Bridgestones are reliable and will easily last you 5 years. But if you are looking for a more comfortable ride with good handling (not great), then you can look at Yokos and Michelins.

Hey I need to upgrade the tyres of my 2009 city. It is shod with stock MRF ZVTV's now. They have just crossed 25k kms, but since they are 6 years old, thinking of changing them with 195/60 R15s.

60-70% of the driving will be inside the city (read lots of potholes) so the tyres must not be prone to punctures.

My priorities are -
1. Lower road noise and a more planted feel.
2. Price

Any suggestions?

Need to replace tires(stock mrf zvtv 175/60/15 on my Oct 09 city smt(mileage 42000). Discovered a cut in the rear RHS tire during servicing today. Have moderate usage to office daily(5km) and occasional fortnightly sprint to mumbai/mahabaleshwar etc. want to go for michelin pst 3 (195/60/15) but would like experts to give more options. Also would request good tyre shops in pune with availability of michelin/yokohamas. thanks!

My city diesel has done about 37k kms since Mid of February 2014. The car sports Bridgestone B250 tyres and except for 2 punctures it has been fine. I am planning to take a trip this week during which I will be covering about 2500kms in 4 days. I am a bit worried about whether my tyres would hold up.

Well its been 2months that i got the delivery of my new car having done the tyre upgrade to Michelin P3ST.

But guys I am really not happy with the ride quality.
The car feels too hard on the suspension.
I experience jerks n bumps on even the slightest of the pothole and road joints. :Frustrati
My family and frenz too complain of the same.
For a matter of fact, I took a test drive of other honda cars to feel the difference with those cars mere perfect.😔😔
Tyre pressure maintained at 30.

Well got my new tyres from a dealer in mumbai and on paying him a visit regarding my dilemma he claimed the issue to be the tyre upgrade.
He recommended me to get back to OEM's.
In addition, he also mentioned about few other customers who got back to the OEM having done the upgrade before.

I would really need some sound advice on this guys and their experience on the same.please:
Is there something else that's bothering the car n me and haven't got my attention.

Fellow BHP-ians,

My city has run over 48000 Kms . I am planning to change the tyres in next 1 or 2 weeks time , at present it runs on Goodyear GT3. I am pretty much happy with stock ones, as till now only one tyre suffered 2 punctures.
Usually i am quite regular with air fills and checking tyre pressure. I am ok to go with Gt3 again, but if anyone can sugegst something better . I shall be thankful.

Secondly, I am not considering to shift base from 175 to 195 profile.
Any suggestions Please!
