Today upgraded to Michelin Primacy 3 ST -from Tyrestore chennai. 25k - including WA, WB, Nitro.

Wanted to get Yokohama earth1. But he said, 195/60 R15 is not available in the market.

Nevertheless no complaints. The last 50km drive - I could feel the difference. Waiting for my next Bangalore trip to test on long-drive :)

One quick question. The upsize is done only for the working one's. Stepney is not changed. Will it not impact the drive - when we use the spare which is 175/65 vs new one 195/60 ?

Understand the wheel, radius is same - but it is still different ?!?. Will it not create imbalance, even slightly ?!?. Mr.Deepak from Tyrestore said - it is not a problem and I can drive for 1000+Kim's with this different tyres.

But is this right ?. Lazy me. Have not browsed through enough. Bet, someone would have clarified it already. Appreciate - if someone can highlight the right reference. Thanks in advance.

Dear ALL,
What is the max one can go on a stock Rim of 15 x 5.5 J ? Why I ask here is because my Jazz needs replacement & I'm not going in for Alloys.

Regards,
G D

You can safely go up to 205 section width tyres on a 5.5J steel rim.
Your upsize options are :
195/60/15
195/55/15
205/55/15

Won't the 205 fiddle with the tyre wall while turning ? GC will become even less.

No it'll not foul with the wheel arches or other components. But 205 will jut out just a wee bit from the bodyline.

205 really is he max in terms of section width but with the huge fender clearance on the Jazz, you could easily go for 205/60R15 in place of 205/55R15. That way you'll get a 9.25mm increase in ground clearance compared to a 1mm reduction.

DISCALIMER: Please check the condition of your car and verify clearances yourself. I've had someone copy my fitment on a bashed up car and trash the fender liners due to rubbing!

Hi guys,
I am looking forward to upgrading my jazz tyres from OE Michelin XM1 175/65/15 which have served me well for past 66k kms and still have some tread left to 195/60/15.
I had a look at the various options available to me-
- Michelin XM2 for about Rs 5500
- Continental max MC5 for about Rs 5000
- Yokohama Decibel for about Rs 5500
- Yokohama A drive for about Rs 5000
Both Michelin and Continental come with similar warranty backing for 5 years as told to me by the certified Michelin dealer here.
Kindly help me make the right choice for the upgrade.
Also i would like to know for the current jazz owners who have upgraded their tyres to 195/60 if it fouls with the body at the rear under full load.
Thanks

Today i upgraded my tyres from michelin xm1 OE 175/65/15 to continental maxcontact mc5 195/60/15.
Changed all the five tyres, got the alignment, balancing done and nitrogen filled.
Must say i am pleasantly surprised by the change in way the car feels now, it feels much more sure footed now and absorbs bumps much better.
Have not driven much after the tyre change so cant really comment about the improvement in highway manners and high speed stability which will be put to test tomorrow as i travel out of town.
Also they look pretty good and yes the ground clearance has surely improved.clap:
As far as the economics go, it cost me a total of Rs 23k for a set of five tyres including alignment, balancing, nitrogen and Rs 2200 buy back for the old michelins which had run well for 66k kms and one of them had a sidewall puncture.
All the work was done at the continental dealer here in Ludhiana that goes by the name of wheel care point.
Including a few pics post install and of the old michelins, kindly excuse the dirt and muck on the car. Been traveling the whole week.

@Superboy44:
What is the stock alloy size of the Jazz ? Is that 5.5J x 15 ?

Regards,
Gautam Dinesh

Yes Gautam that is the size of the stock alloys, its same as the ANHC stock alloys.

As far as the tyres go, i am really pleased with the way these continentals have transformed the dynamics of the car.
They are extremely silent and offer good stability at high speeds. Just did a highway run and i can safely say that they offer really good grip even under sudden lane change maneuver at triple digit speeds.
Just hope they age well.

I need to change my tyres as it has been almost 5+ years since I bought them. My current tyres are Yokohama A Drive, which I find quite noisy. I drive mostly in the city, with occasional long drive. My priorities mileage, comfort & safety. Any recommendations?

Hi guys,

I am planning to buy Jazz CVT V soon.It comes with MRF ZVTV.Is it any good?

If not can you please suggest a good option that I can upgrade in bigger size and also in the same size if dealer makes a fuss on violating the warranty

It is good for those regular commutes and not for spirited driving. Good grip in dry and wet but noisy. I am on the stock tyres on my Swift ZDi that came with the same tires as in the Jazz (185/65 R15).

If your Jazz won't be driven hard then stock to these tyres.

For anyone upgrading/upsizing the New Jazz's shoes, I think shifting from 175/65/R15 ---> 195/55/R16 would look killer. Jazz diesel has enough grunt to handle this width. Not many tires are available in this size; that said, this is the stock size in the Elite i20.

Now couple these with some tasty wheels and there it is. All the JAZZ you ever needed. :D

Can some experts Photoshop anthracite 16 Momo Revenge wheels on a white Jazz? That should give me and other bhpians a better idea. Thanks
