Correct upsize's are :

205/40-16"
205/35-17"

I would suggest 15" is enough on Indian roads..
195/55-15"
205/50-15"

My OHC runs on 15", Looks big enough and the best part, it does not get to your back when it comes to the roads.
So I would recommend 15".

But on the other hand 17" definetely look better and thats about it.... Its just the way your OHC looks with the 17".
Comfort wise.. Most definetely 15"

Dude have u seen bombay roads specially of late! Stick to 15inchers.
With 17 you will end up with a broken back and suspension soon enough.

nothing was concluded in that thread....

before the discussion could come down to a particular size and a particular brand and size of tyre manveet had already bought the tyres and the discussion was finished...

Its not helping me decide...

Im confused what size of rims should i go for...
Once decided bout the size i wanna know what tyres should i opt for...

195/50/15 bridgestone g3 s or yokohama es 100. would go with the g3 s though.
you could take that too 205 though.
i'm cureently on 195/55/15.
anything above 15 s would be an overkill.

maybe you want to continue in that thread. i just posted some pics there.

what i dont understand is how you can ask people for suggestions without stating your requirements. maybe that is where the confusion lies. and the more ppl you ask the more suggestions you get which doesn't really make your job any simpler.

i knew what i wanted, i ruled out irrelevant suggestions (good maybe, but irrelevant to me)

my suggestions .. go for 195/50/15" and DEFINATELY GIII's. I didn't do that as my driving is less and don't plan to keep the car long, so saved money.

btw, don't put 205's. they are TOO wide and the car doesn't have enough power/speed to justify those unless you turbo'ing your ride. else it'll just slow you down.

remember: too much of a good thing is not always a good thing.

regards.

Hey,

Now thats a first time I have heard that excuse. The 1.5 Honda has more than enough juice to accomodate 205's. I think you need to get your facts right. Can you tell me how much pickup time will be lost between the two tyres.

We are not rally drivers here where a fraction of a second counts. I would recommend 205/50/15 with either Yokohoma ES100 or Bridgestone G III.

Excuse?? what excuse? i am sure it has enough juice to handle 215's also. (i am just talking abt juice so now don't start telling me it would scrape etc !! )

The opinion i am expressing is simply as follows ..

I felt a distinct drop in initial pickup when i moved from 175 to 195 therefore by common sense the pickup would reduce further with 205's.
Also, I drive at 160+ everyday as i cross the DND to work. The 195s keep me very confident on the road even as i do quick lane change. You could go in for 205's but are you SURE the pros outweigh the cons for your particular driving style.

I am satisfied with my 195's and you are with your 205's. lets not get emotional

Help Needed!

My cousins bought a pre-worshipped OHC 1.5 (non vtec). He planning to get the tyres replaced, the cuurent size being 175/70/13. What could be the upsize options on the 13'' wheels. Also the options in 14'' and 15'' that is if he plans to change his wheels as well.

Thanks in Advance.
