Hi all
what would be the ideal upgrade size for baleno delta?
The stock size 185 65 R15

Would 195 65 R15 be an ideal size keeping maximum comfort in mind. Speedo error is OK. Would be using stock rims

About the tyre choice, how good is primacy 3st for city use and not so agressive driving?
Is it prone to cut side walls like say yokohoma db

195/60 R15 is the size you ought to be looking at. The primacys are not as prone to side-wall damage but they are still softer compound than stock tyres so one ought to excercise caution :)

The stock tyres are mostly Apollos which I guess uses harder compound

The choice is between Xm2 and Primacy. Price difference is max Rs 500 per tyre, Primacy being the costlier

For 16 inch sizes the prices almost shoots up to 9k per tyre for primacy

XM2s are harder compound than Primacys. They are good tyres but not any good if you're looking at comfort or grip.

Go for the 3ST. They are brilliant and very well balanced in all departments. I've been using them for over a year now and I would get these again without breaking a sweat.

Ideal upsize would be 195/60R15.

If you want to keep the 15" rims, then 195/60 R15 is perfect :thumbs up.

The top trim has 195/55 R16 rubber. If you're keen on the aesthetic value of 16 inchers, that's the size you got to take. But the tyre options will be limited (compared to 195/60 R15 which is really the best upsize for the Baleno).

Both are within acceptable tolerances from the original. No one should get 205s because the Baleno simply doesn't have the power for that. 205s will actually slow the car down.

I know its not the ideal size but the car would be mainly used in city and would be hardly driven aggressively. The main criteria is to improve comfort

Why are you still insisting on such overkill? Folks here have already mentioned the ideal size because it is not fine to install something so unnecessarily huge however if you feel like your "but" is enough reason to justify this, then no one here can stop you :) Your car will be more than comfortable enough if you stick to the recommended 195/60 R15 size and upgrade your tyres to primacys or decibels or something of that sort. If you are willing to do anything in the name of comfort, then why dont you buy 14" rims and go for 195/70 R14 spec tyres instead of opting for the wrong size, damaging your cars dynamic behavior and making it more prone to scraping the sidewalls.

i was just taking the final opinion of fellow members
Reason i did so was because with my petra i upgraded to 185 65 R14 from stock size of 175 65 R14, and there are no issues of scraping of sidewalls
I can understand it depends on car to car and it will be clear as more and more balenos are out on the road

So for now, i will be safe and stick to 195 60 R15

With 195 65 R15, you would be 2.09% over the stock size of 185 65 R15.
This is a little bit on a higher side but i think you can go with it as long as you are OK with warranty issues related to suspension and follow a sedate driving style. Not a very big difference as upto 2% higher than stock is OK.

Go for Michelin XM2 or Yoko Earth in 185/65/R15. The Ciaz also runs on the same for all variants minus Z+ as does Swift Z variant. The 3ST does not come in the same profile, you will need to go with 195/60/R15. This would reduce your ride height and the side profile wouldn't look as good as with 185 (someone pls correct if I missed or errored anything).

65 profile will provide for better cushioning than 60 profile tyre by law of Physics. The stock 185 does not look narrow by any standard.

yes, you are right. The primacy 3st would not come in 185 65 R15 size.

Guess I will stick to the stock 195/55 R 16 then.

The sidewall difference in this case between a 185/65R15 tyre and a 195/60R15 tyre is only 3 millimeters. You think that is enough to warrant an upgrade to eco-friendly low rolling resistance hard compound tyres? :uncontrol The comfort offered by a set of 3STs is so much better than that offered by Earth 1s or XM2s even if they have a slight advantage of 3mm taller side profile :)

Hello everyone, I had booked a delta variant but, now have upgraded to Zeta. I am looking to swap my alloys while retaining the stock tires. Any inputs? How do I go about this? Or do I upgrade my tires as well?
