Lovely - These are the only "affordable" AT tires available for 7OO! For my car's next set of tires, I am either going to change all alloys and tires to 17" lower model stock sizes and use Apollo Apterra AT2 or these BS AT2.

Start shortlisting Alloys as well. Way too many options, both company and design wise.

I heard from one of the service center engineer that AT tyres are heavy and should not be installed in XUV700 because this may affect the shocks and also AT cannot give good ride quality, if you already installed AT tyre, how is the ride quality, steering input etc.

I haven't installed yet - I am planning to is what I mentioned above.

By the way, this statement on AT tires there from "service center engineer" - Can you please substantiate this claim with some more data/ facts or manufacturer guidelines if any?

Hi abirnale

I cant wrap my head around how a change of weight (even if its true) of 2-3 kg on those massive shocks could make a difference. Modern ATs are made keeping in mind that a lot of time they will be driven on tarmac. Silica compound, intelligent sipes all add to enhance ride quality. Plus the extra tread can handle undulations better and make the car more grippy. I have no idea where the service engineer is getting his info from.

In my 1k kms of driving with the BS AT2, I have noticed that road undulations filter less into the cabin. Road noise vs BS 850s is lesser. On ride quality I think its similar and if that was my major concern, I would go for Mich HTs or Yoko RVs

Re: XUV700 : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

I just happened to have installed the A/T tyres on my car. Details here: https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-...ml#post5926606

Went ahead with Bridgestone Dueller A/T 002 for my AX7L - not many options in market anyway :( It's too early for the feedback but so far so good.

Re: XUV700 : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Changed my XUV700 tyres. This time it was Michelin Primacy SUV+.

The earlier Yokohama bluearth RV02 lasted approx 36k kms.

Other option I had in consideration was the turanza 6i given great product features and positive reviews. Their sidewalls felt too soft in my hands and couldn't convince myself.

Re: XUV700 : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Hi folks,

Has anybody tried the continental cross contact HT on XUV 700. Would like to know how the tyres are with respect to braking and road noise. Looking for this as a little more rugged tyres would be better considering the road conditions and the kind of punctures that keep coming up on soft compound tyres.

We had used continental cross contact LT2 in our XUV 500 and that was a pretty quiet tyre.

I'm on the lookout for new tyres myself. Similar requirement as yours, a little more rugged than the stock ones (Ecopia) this time. After speaking to a few tyre dealers, I'm inclined towards Yokohama Geolandar SUV. Looking at Cross Contact HT as well but can't find them anywhere in Bangalore and Chandigarh.

Do you know any dealer in Bangalore which has them?

I am not sure about cross contact HT in Bangalore but saw them in kerala yesterday. Some continental dealers have the tyres available in kerala. Although Geolandar Suv is available everywhere.
