They're here to make money, not a name as a pricey enthusiast brand. You can expect some GPS 2/S322 type tyres for the mass market. Hopefully they'll sell the Neovas and the Sports too.

Do we "really" need warranty for tyres ? I've seen majority of buyers buying without warranty but there will always a bill(I hope so).
And what will be the price range of Yokohama tyres ?

Warranty or no warranty depends on how much value you put on the life of you & your family, as simple as that. With B&W you're assured it is a reasonable quality product & that the stock is not too old, with grey market stuff you never know how old the tyres are & whether they confirm to the quality norms or are factory rejects.
So ultimately the choice lies with the customer.
You can tell how old a tyre is, but whether it is a factory reject or not is a bit tougher. Though now I believe the companies punch a small hole in the sidewall of rejects, so they cannot be used. Atleast as a tubeless.
RT - Latest trick by companies importing tyres is that they remove the date of manufacture on them. Their manufacturing date can only be known by tallying the batch number on them & needless to say that means you have to have a company contact.
My suspicion is that companies are doing this so they can push off the old stock they have lying with them in places like Thailand, Japan etc.
The date is moulded onto the tyre. How can they remove it?

they melt the rubber with the date. that way instead of date you will see a blank rectangle box on it.

I'd stay away from any dealer that did that! I doubt a manufacturer will risk doing this. It is against the law. Every tyre has to have the date imprinted on the tyre.
all the old dated stuff lands in our country and people buy it happily thinking they are getting the best stuff.

There seems to be some anamoly in imported tyres on that front. And it's the companies that do it Robin, not the dealers. I will try & get some pics for you today.
It could also be to avoid paying hefty customs duties. :)
Can someone update this thread with the MSRP for the tyres being sold here officially by Yoko.
Not in yet. But expect a hike in prices across the board, for whatever they will sell.
Are they launching the entire brand.
