The MY 2024 Audi cars apparently dont come with spare wheels anymore. Audi is providing an analog tyre inflator and a puncture repair kit (one which comes in a spray can and had to be sprayed into the tyre using the inflator air pressure). This also means there is a jack included with the car and the boot wheel space has some minor modifications which needs to be removed to make space for the spare tyre.

This is a very unfortunate trend and eventually many other manufacturers will follow suit.

Wanted to ask members how they are dealing with this? What do you do for the anxiety on long trips? Has anyone bought a spare wheel for Audi A4 specifically? How should one go about it? How much would it cost?

Definitely cost cutting. I work at Audi and it was a surprise for me too. The tyre repair kit works beautifully though. Needs some strength and you're back on the road. Ask an Audi technician or watch a YouTube video, pretty sure you'll gain some confidence. Happened with me too when I first heard it.

The spare tyre suddenly is like a mobile phone charger that doesn't come with the phone. I don't understand this total lack of commonsense with the car cos.
Some things are indispensable in a car. There is no way a car company can justify removing a spare wheel. I will not be comfortable taking a car out with my
family in it that does not have a spare. What if you are on a road trip to some remote areas and you get a flat that cannot be inflated or has to be inflated every 30min.

The issue with the repair kit is in large puncture or sidewall damage scenarios. For every other smaller punctures I have seen that filling air with the portable air compressor is good enough to drive around for a few days till you get to the repair shop.

Unfortunately got busy last couple of weeks. So couldnt see if the tyre is available in the open market. Will resume search next month and update here.

Audi now has the A4 space saver in stock. They've quoted Rs. 63,500/- for it (approx Rs. 22,000/- for the Rim and Rs. 41,500 for the Tyre). Lower than the initial quote, but still quite high.

Another alternative is to get a BMW SST 135/80/R18 for approx Rs. 30,500/-. Per the tyre calculators available online, there's a variation of 2% against the tyre height of the Audi 125/70/R19.

Has anyone found or have purchased a spare tyre for Audi A6 recently? I have been searching for 2 months without success.

This is defiantly unsafe. Manufacturers first stopped giving same size spare tires to save space, then moved to those scooter tires and now no tire at all.

In last 4 years I had to use the spare tire 3 times, once out of those were at night in Noida secluded place and there was no way for me to get a new tire. I was with my wife and the tire side wall was ripped open due to a pot hole.

Nothing can be done in that situation with a puncture kit. People should start pointing this when they go for test drives.

This is really bad on Audi's part. After spending 65-74lakhs if you have to hunt for spare tires. Have you checked with the Audi's dealership?

I tried searching for this after reading your post and i was only getting OLX links.

The Audi dealer is also searching for the same. Its an odd size and the same size is available in Europe and US, the Indian dealers don't have them in stock. Hope to get one soon. Keeping fingers crossed

145/ 65 R 20 105 M Emergency Tyre

Just FYI - Mine is technology variant which has 19 in wheels, so just check with your SA as well if the 20 inch spare will work for PP variant (since it comes with 18 inch wheels). I think it should work for A6 PP as well.

I am in the same boat:). Bought the Q5 and been looking for a spare. Audi Mumbai South tells me they are trying to source it from a third party but I am still waiting. Any suggestions are welcome where I can buy one.

I am also searching for a spare wheel for my A4 but haven’t been able to find a space saver. I’m exploring the possibility of getting a full-size wheel and carrying it only for specific trips, depending on road conditions and distance. For city usage and shorter trips nearby, I’m hopeful that the current setup should suffice.

I’m looking for assistance in getting the exact specifications (apart from 225/50 R17) for the wheel size for MY2024 A4, such as PCD and offset numbers. Any additional details that could help in making the right selection would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

I got my space saver donut from https://www.thewheelshop.co.uk/ which was ordered on desertcart. The donut fits perfectly in the wheel well of my A6 with the B&O subwoofer. Check the website after 2nd Jan for availability as they are closed for holidays at the moment. Happy shopping!

I had an oem Hankook tyre on my week old A4 blow out its sidewall today maybe due to debris from metro construction that has led to Chennai roads being largely dug up.

No chance of getting Hankook in India other than gray market or on order from Audi service so I changed barely 800 km run tyres to JK Levitas Ultra from a nearby tyre shop.

Painful if this had happened on a highway. So did you find out about the space saver’s size and PCD? Not entirely sure 63k for a steel wheel and spare sounds like a good idea.
