@ghatotkach - Its very important that you always put new tyres (or the tyres with better tread) at the rear & older (or less tread) at the front. It is a common mistake most people make but it is quite dangerous, specially during rains.

is the cpc2 good enough for a couple of track days a year? i don't except Yoko advan nevos kind of grip , the tire just lasting the track day for 30-40 laps 2-3 times a year would be good enough for me . Can it do that or would it start to shred rubber in the track?

hmm, wish i knew this before changing. i thought since the front tyres bear the brunt all the time, better to have the newer ones in the front. :(
guess, i will have to keep my speed in check till i get the newer ones in the rear.

Heavy wear in my CPC2, especially the front. In four months and 5000kms, the front has only half the tread as the rear. I want to rotate the tyres, but is it advisable to put the low tread tyres in the back?

Anyone got contact of continental person in chandigarh. I found Bridgestone, Michelin, Yoko, Apollo, Mrf, JK and even some korean tyres Ling Long etc, but no one had conti. Their website also does not have a dedicated India section, so no info there.

I am back in the market again for a fresh tire upgrade in my 1.6S. I have had enough with the CPC2. The hard side walls & the hard dampers in the 1.6S is making my life horrible behind the wheel.

The tires provide excellent grip and good cornering on flat roads. The wet weather grip and the way it handles aqua planning is also commendable.

But, rough roads & patholed roads leaves my bone rattling and makes it really uncomfortable for my co-passengers as well. :Frustrati

So, I need good set of tires now! Possibly something good on a flat surface and also provide a comfy ride at the same time (read as soft side walls).

Problem is 195/55 R15 has almost no options.

I guess you can try the Maxxis MA Z1 and the S drive. They have a softer sidewall I think.

If oyu get your hands on it, then yes. But it wont solve your basic problem of hard ride.

AD08s will not come for at least 6-7 months. AD07s are out of stock pretty much everywhere. Check with Tyrestore and see if he has stock.

I have been reading mixed reviews about the MAZ1 & the S-Drives. Some old threads really where they are talking about the tires locking up while braking from speeds of 50-60KM/H. Should I stay away from these tires?

I have a good experience with the Pirelli P6000 175/65 R14 which I had used in my previous car, the Ikon. I got these tires sent to me by Pirelli HO in Delhi and got them fitted at Century Tires in Bangalore. The tires provide excellent grip, comfort & were excellent in wet.

How about the Pirelli P7 or the P6? How much would it cost?

The Pirelli P7 and P7 are mainstream tyres. Lesser grip than the CPC2s. Otherwise, they seem ok. No personal experience with them.

Bulge/lump in my Continental Sport Contact 2 in a brand new 1 day old tyre.
And to make matters worse the engineers who inspected the tyre came to an conclusion even before looking at the tyre properly. And were creating stories and problems for the claim.
Though they will get back to me on wednesday with the final verdict.
But yeah,
So that's my take on Conti's for now!
And the best part My previous tyres were grey market Bridgestones same size and gave me 50000 kms and no problem whatsoever of this kind!
