Did not notice any change in the FE, no puncture in the last 7 months of usage. Highway ride quality improved a lot on high speed and noise level also acceptable but will not say silent.

Which would be a good choice between cc5 and mc5?.

My priorities are quietness, comfort and handling.

What would be the price difference?

These are for a 2003 lancer. Sizes are 185/70 or 175/70 r14

I have a 2002 Lancer Slxd LE with the same 14 inch OE alloys as yours. 185/70 or even 175/70 - won't it be fouling with the front fender liners?

MC5s arent available in 14inch, minimum is 15inch.

Ive seen lancers with 185/70, 175/65. 195/6o in 14. It is surprising how it takes a lot of sizes. From stock 185/60 to 175/70 is within standard margins iiirc.

CC5 are available up to 14" & beyond that dia. you will get the MC5.

Sorry to bump an old message sunnyboi can you give me an update on how the MC5 is holding up now? I'm looking for the same size - 195/60/15 - and priority is silence and comfort on long drives. Research indicates (currently!) that MC5 is the best fit for that.

Secondly, got a quote for 5100/- ea over the phone. WB & WA is extra(500/-). I think he can come down by 200/- ea max. Reasonable price?

I sold my car with the tyres sometime back. MC5 should be perfect for you, the ride comfort was bliss with 30psi and it is very silent. 5100 is reasonable, I paid around 5500 per tyre when I got mine.

Bought Conti MC5 on the weekend.

Ride quality has definitely improved. it goes over speed bumps and potholes much more smoothly.

I havent noticed a huge difference in noise compared to earlier tyres(Michelin mxv8).

One big downside is that MC5 has a higher rolling resistance. Earlier(with Michelin) when i took my foot off the accelerator, the car decelerated much slower. Now i feel a light jerk when i take the foot off the pedal like a sudden slow down in speed. Maybe the old tyres had worn out to such an extent that there was lesser resistance? Will know in a month whether this affects my FE(infrequent use).

The car definitely feels more planted at high speeds. Almost as if it got heavier. Turning at 50-60 speeds is smooth and again - very planted.

Will get better understanding of performance on a long drive. Definitely loving the tyres, though would have appreciated more with a lower resistance on contact.

Guys, I'm taking delivery of my S-Cross this Saturday and am swapping the stock alloys for Lenso Samurai Dojo (16x7.0). Now comes the tyre: the stock is JK Elanzo which looks and sound horrible. I've 2 options - Michelin Primacy 3ST (205/60/R16) quoted for 14,700 and Conti MC5 (225/55/R16) quoted for 12,300. I'm confused which is the best in terms of low road noise and plush ride quality. Please advise.

I have a quick query.. is there any market/dealer in Mumbai where I can buy car tyres at wholesale price or lesser than the usual market price.

How would CC5 rate against Pirelli P1? Europeans rate P1 as a very quiet tyre but do not have Cc5. CC5 is rated very quiet in asian markets but there are very rare views on P1.

My only priority here would be cutting down the decibels.

Exactly. I am also interested in CC5 for my Figo (185/65/R14). General opinion is they are noiseless with better grip. Not able to source info about Pirelli.

The Continentals are good and so are the others like Michelin and Yokohama.

Personally, I think the Pirellis are not as good as these in these common sizes like 14" and 15" and 16".

Guys, I just upgraded the Stock JK Elanzo tyres on my S-Cross to Lenso Alloys + Conti 225/55R16 MC5. Road noise is very low now and it gives a feeling of riding a hovercraft, a balloon like feeling under the hood. Suddenly I feel that the vehicle is much lighter, with improved road grip and road presence because of wide tyres. Haven't gone on a long trip yet, but time will tell how they last with time. As the dealer warned, one dangerous thing about this tyre is that they make the driver fall asleep...beware!
