Hi Folks,

I have a Fiesta TDCi ZXI purchased in Oct 2007, clocked around 11,000 Kms. I am somewhat dissatisfied with the ride quality and want to upgrade the tyres which gives good riding comfort under bangalore roads. I would like to go for alloy wheels too, please advice on good brands and how to buy geniue alloy wheels at bangalore..

Thanks

For ride comfort, go in for 185/65 R14 tyres.

I have booked a Fiesta 1.6 SXi but would like to upgrade my stock tyre as soon as I take delivery. My requirements would be good handling, ride quality and performance in that order. What would your suggestion of tyre be for the same? Can you suggest on a few options and their merits/demerits?
funda2max, if you don't mind, I didn't want to start a separate thread and thought that it is better to get info from the gurus at one place.

Quite a few options: (If comfort is your top priority)

Michelin Energy XM1+
Yokohama A.Drive
Yokohama A300
Apollo Accelere

iraghava, any thoughts on Bridgestone Turanza ER60.

Not available in 185/65 R14 AFAIK. Otherwise a good tyre for our conditions.

Ishan u are right. Turanza ER60 is not available in 185/65-14.

Sridhar
u can choose between Yoko A300/A drive and Michelin XM1. All good comfort based tires.

My father-in-law's fiesta needs new tyres. I am suggesting 195/60R14 Michelin Energy XM1+ since he will get better grip, and better ride comfort over the OE 175/65R14. The sidewall actually goes up. The speedo error with 195/60 is 1.1% where as with 185/65 is 2.2%. I prefer the speedo error low as possible.

Anybody used 195/60R14 with Fiesta, should be fine, right?

195/60-14 Michelin XM1+ is a perfect choice for Fiesta.
Does it have stock rims or alloys?

MaserQ has 195/60-14 Potenza GIIIs.

does any one have any experience with upsize in rim size with the fiesta. 195/60/R15 ? how does the car behave, ride quality, dynamics etc? anyone?

What is the difference b/w 185/65 R14 and 195/60 R14? and when should one choose either? My SXI would come with 14'' alloys.
Also, what about an upgrade to 15'' alloys?

IMO 195/55 or 195/50 r15 would be a better upsize. the handling would definitely become better and the ride quality would go down a bit.

Thanks folks. One more question i have, what about the mileage? How drastically will it reduce if i go upgrade? Any comments? Currently i get 17Kms in City and 22 in highways.

Thanks once again.

He used to be on rims, one day he hit a pothole hard, rim got bent and the tubeless lost all air. An hour later he was on aura alloys.

If your FIL lives near you, I would recommend he get 185/65/R14. It would give an edge wrt ride quality and resist rim bends better than 195/60.
Moreover,Michelin XM1 has amazing grip too for speeds upto 140.
