I know another probably exists, but this is big news and deserves it's own thread.

The C drive was available in only size till now. It was available in 225/60 R15 which was an upsize for the Innova's 205/65 R15.

Soon however, you can get them in a few more sizes.

185/60 R14 --- Around 3.8k

185/65 R14 --- Around 3.6k

195/60 R15 --- Around 4.3k

205/65 R15 --- Around 4.6k

215/60 R16 --- Around 6.8k

205/55 R16. --- Around 6.8k

Prices are very reasonable.

Availability --- 3 sizes are available right now. 185/60 R14, 205/65 R15 and 195/60 R15.

Well, this is a good thing. The stock tyres on my swift are 50k km old now & I am looking for options. So what advantage do the C drives offer? The A drives obviously cater to the cost conscious buyer. Would you recommend the Cs over the XM1+?
BTW, I know that everyone has a very low opinion of the stock JKs, but to give credit where it is due, they have not let me down in over 50k km of hard driving. However, now that its time for a change of footwear, I will not be buying JKs.

The C drives are superbly priced, quiet, comfortable and grip pretty well. Having never driven a car with these tyres, based on online reviews and comparison tests, I would say these would grip much better than the Michelins but the XM1+s would be more comfortable.

How good are these C-Drives when compared to S-Drives?

Ah !! I guess my A drives will last till the C drives are launched in 185/65-14.
Hope the wait is gonna be worth it.

@Nikhil: With the new sizes that are out, would you recommend an Innova owner go for the stock-sized 205/65 R15 or the upsized 225/60 R15.

Also, if you dont mind me asking, what are the pros and cons of upsizing & staying at stock?

Will a 195/60/R15 fit in a Fiesta S without hitting anything?

Stick to 195/55/R15.
You probably can get it in a comfort oriented tyre model.

I still dont think 225/60 R15 is of any use for a stock Innova. So, 205/65 R15 is what I would recommend.

S drives are much more sporty and grippy. For you, I would recommend the 195/55 R15 S drives itself.

i have the c drive on my innova and have done 10k on them
must say best tyres i have come across
really absorb the irregularities on the road, and you really notice the difference in ride quality

also got s drive on my linea , also done 10k

I have tried Yoko C.Drive (225/60R15) in my Innova and Michelin energy XM1 (185/65R14) in my Baleno. It is not an apples to apples comparo as the cars in question are very different. But my initial feel is that the Michelins are a bit (just that bit and not a bit more) more comfortable. Yokos have better grip in wet and dry and both the tires are equally silent.

I disagree with Nitin that 225/60 tires have no use for a stock innova. Many of the innova's are used for high speed crusing on the highways and in a crunch situation, you want to get every every bit of stopping power you want. These tires grip way better than the stock tires and while dont have numbers to prove- I surely believe that the straight line stopping distance is better too.

I just got C drives fixed on my Palio 1.3 mjd . 185 R14 65 .

The rides definitely a lot better over the GPS2 s . Handling dont really know since I dont corner hard ... but the cars a lot more stable at higher speeds . I cant make out any remarkable drop in tyre noise levels but thats probably down to the car's sound insulation.

The steerings gotten a lot lighter...loved the old feedback though .

The tyres look great with the new set of plat alloys . badass tread pattern. The tyres bulge slightly out of the car body ... thought 185s would be just about right.

I'm glad I trolled around this section before making the buy . Was thinking about A drives but decided on these . Worked out to 3.5k a tyre .

Yokohama tire positioning map that I got in the July 2010 Hyderabad Auto Expo. Note that C.Drives are grippier compared to even the S.Drives in the wet though the tables turn for dry grip.

What is C-drives prime usp ? And noise levels ?

I wonder whats the reason behind that..

Even i had the same experience and finally had to go back to A Drives.

But, 225/60-15 C drives on Innova works very well.
