A small correction, the Studebaker Golden Hawk is of 1957 and not 1953.

Thank you Sir for correcting me on that count. Yes the Studbreaker Golden Hawk is of 1957 and not 1953.

Great job with the photos. Anyone know more about the R-R Wraith ? Looks like this same car may have been in a show in Bangalore ca 2009.

The car is MSC 2300 - Vijay Mallya. First owner Chettiar, reportedly a very low milage car. It had attended events in Bangalore recently too.

Re: The Zigwheels and Fort Jadhavgadh Heritage Drive - May 2011

As part of the Fiat retrospective, many Fiat models were on display. Mallya's 501 Corsa S (?) had me smitten.

Also on display were some Puntos, Palios and Lineas, and the new 500 standing next to Adil's own earlier car.

A pair of lovely 57s gave company to a Super Select, President, Padmini and even a 118NE.

Re: The Zigwheels and Fort Jadhavgadh Heritage Drive - May 2011

I was thrilled to see an early rickshaw restored and on display too. These models are fast running out, though I still see some running in Ahmednagar and other smaller cities.

This pair of Indians stole the show in the bikes section.

Lovely BSA caught my eye. Was there last year too.

Re: The Zigwheels and Fort Jadhavgadh Heritage Drive - May 2011

Hi Karl

The look and the proportions of the Mallya Fiat Racer are so pleasing to the eye and just right from every angle. The paint and restoration quality is also superb, love the little passenger foot brace too.

Do you have any idea what kind of engine does it have ? Any pics woule be nice too

Does anyone know who brought it into the country and where it was raced if at all it was raced.

I do know the story of how it was found in pieces with a tree growing thru it before it was rescued by Mallya's crew.

It is surely going to be a great entry for any future Cartier concours

Bulldogi's Bentley is simply stunning. Hey Karl, any pics of the Golden Hawk in the background. I know this is the Pune car, but never seen good pics of it.

Regards
Prithvi

Re: The Zigwheels and Fort Jadhavgadh Heritage Drive - May 2011

Karl,

Can you please shed some light on the Topolino.

Is the car off Adil's ownership right now.....? Has it got a new owner.....? Does it run.......?

Of what i have researched in the past few months, there are only handful of Fiat 500C's running well on ORIGINAL Engines..

1) One must be in Pune
2) Second belonging to Dr Selvaraj in Chennai
3) Adil's car
4) One in Delhi

BTW, some more details of that car would be appreciated.

Adil's car is still very much with him as far as I know. Seemed to run perfectly. Had seen it many years back being painted at Apex in Pune.

Pune had atleast 2 runners that I can think of. I'm sure there must be more too.
