Three Vintage & Classic Car Rallies @ Bangalore, all on the same day!

Hi,

It was a sudden burst of displays and rally's in Bangalore today. I started with awareness of one rally in Whitefield and ended up visiting three. Here are some pictures from each of them.

During the course of the whitefield rally, i came to know of possibly two other rally/displays happening in the city. Left whitefield and headed towards Jayamahal where the second event was happening. The following are some pics from this event.

Wonderful pictures i must say.

Your thread took me to the past! The only thing going on my mind seeing the pictures were, if we compare the build quality of these car with our modern cars then our modern cars will ashamed to come in front of their ancestors!

Great pics and cars. Thanks! Nice to see 2 six cylinder Ponton Mercs. One seems to be a 219 (deep silver grey) and the other a 220S (black). The deep red 4 cylinder should be an early 180 petrol (sidevalve) or a 180D, going by the first series narrowest grill on the car.

The Ponton is indeed a 219, a Mumbai car which lived very near my home in the 1970's belonging to a diplomat.
I see that the Humber has regrown the snake horn. Very unsuitable, making the car look as fancy dressed.

I believe that this would have been a Datsun, why was the front show modified I don't know. Maybe an accident, and then parts were not available, but the car could have been made to look much better.

I see that Bangalore is also into fun events.

There is a Chevy Nova Coupe being modified/rodded in Bangalore. Understand that this car came from Chennai. They seem to be plonking a V8 engine now. I am sure it will look much better than the car above as posted by Harit

Last Sunday was very hot and must appreciate the enthusiasm of car lovers. The three events not linked to one another but one could attend any one of them based on convenience. Though I would like to believe that the Century Club event would have been restricted to members & member guest cars. Other two events were an open house.

No KVCCC event being planned in the immediate future

Hi Sir,

I arrived at this event at the time of the awards and this car was given the best modified car award or something similar. I heard the owner saying this was a Datsun 120 Y.

Wow, three rallies in 1 day huh?! Do I envy you Bangy folks! Maybe you could have lent one of your rallies to us starved folks in Hyderabad!

I guess one of the rallies (Jayamahal?) also had a white Herald participating.

Good to see the enthusiasm put in by people there on such a large scale, that too in this weather!

May your tribe increase!

Hi Stanher,

I did visit the Jayamahal show, but did not see a white herald, the only herald i saw was in the whitefield show and was red in colour.
