In 1988 Susee Auto were dealers for Bajaj in Madurai, and the cost of an M80 was Rs. 8,682.87 all inclusive.
A 1949 list of prices for trucks, vans and bikes sold in India.
A Harley Davidson with side car cost Rs. 4,800, an AJS 350 was Rs. 2,700, while the 500cc bike cost Rs. 2,800.
Interestingly note the Standard Vanguard (Phase 1) advertised at Rs. 8,950, in primer only!
A list of prices of cars sold in India in 1952, from the Autocar India September 1999 issue. Model listed include Austin, Ford, Hillman, Hindustan, Rover, Morris, Singer, Standard, Vauxhall, Fiat, Renault, Chevrolet, Dodge, DeSoto, Hudson, Mercury, Plymouth, Pontiac and Studebaker.

Another Enfield Bullet invoice, this time from 1986. The cost was Rs. 18,700 in Bokaro Steel City. Dealer was Sandeep Auto Company.
A 1966 invoice for a Rajdoot 175 motorcycle
Cost was Rs. 3,384.30 in Bharatpur.
In December 1995 this Premier Padmini S1 Executive sold for Rs. 2,36,998 in Madras via dealers Sundaram Motors.
A 1986 invoice for a Suvega moped, the cost is listed as Rs. 4,938.05 in Pondicherry including taxes.
A January 1969 invoice for a Hindustan Ambassador Mark II, in S Green colour (Silverpine green / Sea green?). Dealers were Delhi Motor & Cycle Co. and the cost was Rs. 19,807.81 including Rs. 40 for number plates.
An October 1974 invoice for an 'R Green' Bajaj 150 Scooter from Delhi dealers Sikand & Co. The cost was Rs. 4099.93, and don't miss the declaration that the buyer hadn't bought a scooter in the last two years.
A Hillman Minx brochure from Coronation Motors in Ahmedabad. The price is mentioned as Rs. 11,390, Ahmedabad showroom delivery, plus sales tax.
Garware Motors Limited, dealers of Riley and Jaguar cars, offered the range of models with prices as under. Interestingly even in 1950 the prices are advertised in GBP.
