Re: PICS: Pune Vintage Bike Exhibition, May 2015

awesome!! In love with the Red Meteor I really wonder or acually gape in wonder as to how much efforts went into maintaining them in the prime finish they're in.
A doubt that I always had : How do they get these beauties serviced? Do we have experts who manage them.

Re: PICS: Pune Vintage Bike Exhibition, May 2015

Great clicks, Aficionados!

It must have been a visual treat to see and feel these beauties in person.

On a different note, I fail to understand - why these days all motorcycle manufacturers are keen on producing ‘alien shaped’ products. Take for example KTM Duke, Yamaha FZ series. The headlights, petrol tanks etc have all weird shapes.

For a person like me, who does not want the ‘sports bike’, the choice is extremely limited i.e. Mostly limited to RE Bullet(s); There are Harleys and Triumphs, but are out of reach from Budget perspective.

I have not been able to understand why, for instance, Yamaha cannot produce a 300 - 500 CC motorcycle, with look and feel of RD350. I am sure there are many more people like me, who would love the Retro look + Modern technology combination.

PS: No offence to sports motorcycle lovers :-)

Indeed it was a pleasure to see all old beauties in pristine condition, so much that some were looking freshly laid out of factory a day before.

Bang on! the same thought did come to my mind while walking through these oldies, but the world is seen differently by everyone, thus the sports bikes are here to stay which attracts the Y generation more

I would love that too. But when i think about it, if i am spending more than 4lakhs on a motorcycle, the main criterion would be a bike that goes 'sports bike' fast. With only a few people like you who appreciates the heritage and the pure classy feel of motorcycling, the company may not be able to make a profit. They are already making plenty of money with the motorcycles they have in the contemporary market, then why take such a risk?

On a side note, I appreciate the Hero Motor Corp for the Classic they launched.
