Madras Day celebrations - Display & talk on Madras' automotive heritage Late last month I was visiting Chennai and luckily it coincided with an event. As part of the Madras Day celebrations, a display and small talk was organised at Hotel Turyaa. The talk was particularly enjoyable, discussing Madras's automotive history from the first car to come to Madras, and the contribution of the Simpson's Group, TVS, Addisons, Amalgamations etc. Speakers were noted historians S Muthiah and V Sriram.
