Thanks for your advice/help.
Hey Abhimanyu! that is an amazing find. My boss is restoring his Chevy nova and he has chosen to go a slightly modern route as far as the interior and engine is concerned. He has gotten hold of a new LS3 6.2 liter Chevy camaro engine, which makes roughly about 530BHP. I'll ask him for a picture. In the meantime there was this beautifully restored Nova in my gym parking a few days ago.

Hey,

Thanks for the picture. How I wishhhh I could do these projects when I was in college at Purdue, access to these monster engines and spares/trims is sooo easy in the states. Given an opportunity I would also do a resto mod on a 66 2 door sports coupe with similar engine options as your boss but here in India seeing the rarity of these vehicles its best to keep them original.

The pictures above look amazing, this one though is a 64 or 65, body shape changed in the 66.

Looking forward to see those pictures

Re: 1966 Chevrolet Nova restoration - Finally found a classic!

Congratulations Abhimanyu for your new buys. I am particularly fascinated by the 1966 Nova. This is because my friend owned one from the same year viz. 1966 , LHD, 6 cyl in line and of the same colour . It was not in use for a long time and was rotting. The car was sold to someone from Delhi around 2010 and was transported there.

The car was bought in the late 1970's by my friend from the Goregaon Film City, Bombay, where it was used for film shoots. The car did a good innings and was rested in the 1990's. Since then it was parked and not used. I felt it was getting worse every day and suggested to sell the car. It was ultimately sold for a paltry amount. Not sure where and how is it now ?

The first two are older pictures from its better times while the other pictures show the car rotting.

Dear Sir,

Thanks for sharing these pictures. Out of the 2 cars I have got my hands on, Im obviously excited for both, but just the exclusivity and rarity of the Nova makes me a little more excited for that.

A lot of people know about 60's Impala as it was the popular car of that time but only a few imported the mid size Nova, and personally I love the shape of it.

If im correct about this car the current owner has made it into a 2 door hardtop in a dual colour, red and white. The look that I have in mind for mine is bright red with tan interiors and 17-18 inch chrome rims. I know members here would not agree with me about the rims but thats something that Ive wanted from day 1, rest everything I am keeping original

Hey Guys,

Just received an update from my boy at the workshop.
I'm adding a few pictures here of the work that has been completed over the last few days, the primer has been done on the car, and now some tinkering needs to be done and floor work needs to be done.

We are waiting for the suspension bush kit and engine gasket kit to come to complete the mechanicals and then finally move ahead with the paint.

Will personally visit the workshop on Saturday to have a clearer picture.

Looks like the car has been restored by Mr. Jatti. The job looks top class. Congratulations to all!
