Stanher, Some guys get to have all the fun.:-)
Lovely high definition photos to cherish. Thank you for sharing. Oh you poor chap to think you had to sweat it out in the Chennai's sun and sultry for our sake.:D
The white and yellow Herald, the bright blue Beetle, the red old Merc, that green Jag...:thumbs up As for the 19th century tricycle that looks like something I will need in my old age.
Lovely pics Stanher! Loved the Aston Martin DB5 - and the shade on it - although I would have preferred the grey or the British Racing Green. What's the story on it? Is it here on carnet?
The Jaguars look majestic. Good amount of Standard cars also - the Ten's and th Herald's.
The Chevy Impala is a Mumbai car - has it moved to Chennai?
The Aston Martin DB6 is on carnet so were the Alfa and VW. The show was very well organised. The cars were all in excellent cosmetic health even tough they are from chennai. It was nice to see lot of friends including Shyam. Some pictures from my side.

My pleasure! More than the sultry sun, I had to deal with the issue of my phone battery going down and needing continuous charging, plus the running out of memory space in my phone! Which is why I missed clicking some cars! :(

Yes twas in Bombay (and I think Pune before that) where I'd first seen it at a VCCCI rally in 2014, shortly after which it moved to Madras.

A great collection Stanher! The two Super 10's (one with M-B hub-caps - very artistic!) took me back to school, where one of our teachers (migrated to Australia later) had a spotless example.
The other example which rang a bell was the splendid yellow Cord 812, an example of which was owned by the erstwhile star Tom Mix, who was killed driving it.
And of course the collection of pre-60's Jaguars - possibly their best vintage.
Vow! Great collection indeed. How would i able to get information about these shows in chennai? any leads?
The details of the Chennai show are advertised in all the Chennai papers. There are usually 2 events a year.
The one in July / August is the judging event and the one in January/ February is a drive to Pondicherry.
The judging event normally sees about 120- 140 cars and the Pondicherry event about 40.

Can someone throw some light on this one? |
That is a Cord, also know as "Coffin Nose" model

The Cord 810, and later Cord 812, was a luxury automobile produced by the Cord Automobile division of the Auburn Automobile Company in 1936 and 1937. It was the first American-designed and built front wheel drive car with independent front suspension. Source |

Man, that design, 80 years old, still looks futuristic to some extent, even today.
They did an awesome job with the designing and body work, clean lines and smooth edges. But as per wiki, did a disastrous job with the mechanicals.
Thanks for this input. Appreciate your knowledge on vintage cars.:thumbs up
