The annual VCCCI Vintage and Classic Car Event took place on the 16th and 17th of March. This years event changed from its regular venue around the Horniman Circle to a Omkar 1973 in Worli. The turnout was great as usual, with a variety of cars turning up from across the city and even Pune. Attended the event on Sunday, and it was a perfect Sunday morning with friends around cars.
Here's some pictures from the event I clicked.
The GM Trio of Cadillac, Chevrolet and Buick was represented in all body-styles - sedans, coupes, convertibles and all!
The Eights and Super Eights in stunning colors and in impeccable conditions were a treat to look at!
The other GM marque, Cadillac!
This stunning Impala convertible, which belongs to a friend, was the of all eyes, and looked rather regal on the red carpet it was parked on.
This gorgeous Chevy pick-up was done up just in time for the show.
A lovely Chrysler :)
The ex-Maharaja of Patialas Fiat Corsa had one of the nicest exhaust notes at the show. And that body-style is simply droool!
This Ford Deluxe,an ex-Maharaja of Junagadh car.
The stunning Jag XK and the Mark IV were the only two Jags at the show.
This unique, quirky Saab 96 with its 2 stroke engine was another crowd puller.
The Alfa Romeo 1750GTV, arguably having the most sonorous exhaust note, and freshly done up for the Cartier Concours. One of my favourite cars in the city.
The stunning duo of the '61 Thunderbird Coupe and '62 220SE Convertible, both of which won the best of their respective classes at the Cartier Concours held earlier this year. Restored impeccably by Allan Almeida, these two gorgeous cars had visitors dropping jaws, snapping necks and wide open eyes!
'49 Humber Hawk was the only Humber at the event.
Two wagons - Fiat and Standard Vanguard.
The stunning 1940 LaSalle Coupe, the only LaSalle at the show.
Beautiful Austin Mini.
Morris Duo!
Studebaker Champion.
The wide array of Beetles from across years, convertibles, coupes, ragtops and the super desirable split window, all loved by people alike!
A newly imported Phantom 3, clicked from one of the most unappetising angles maybe. More pics to follow :)
Thanks for the coverage and lovely pictures ///RMan.

Those are some really stunning cars that were displayed. Some familiar ones too. The star of the the show for me has to be the Alfa Romeo 1750 GTV. It's absolutely gorgeous to behold!

Allan's passion for these old beauties is reflected in his work. It's almost always perfect!
Good to see the Buick Eights as well. Special love for the old Mini, Beetles and all the lovely convertibles.
I also see an Ambassador as well as an SS80 in a couple of the pictures. Has the VCCCI started accepting them as well?
Well captured Thank you!
At first i was not sure if this was the best venue for some of the best cars in Mumbai to be showcased. But after we got there and saw the industrial aesthetic of exposed concrete and brightly painted signages and graphics I changed my mind. The photos reflect that, especially the photo of the silver Alfa against a yellow background doing rounds on many forums is spectacular! Maybe some printed posters co branded with team BHP are in order. Will sell out fast.:)
The moral of the story is there are so many open spaces available in Mumbai like old mills etc that we should consider as a backdrop for our events in the future. This has been happening in many cities like Berlin and will offer new photography opportunities for everyone.

I don't know about the Ambassadors, but one particular SS80, belonging to
BHPians Johannskaria and noelnelly not only participated but also won the 3rd Prize in Best restored - Indian Heritage Class. :thumbs up
Car looks good, and having seen the car when it was bought by them, I can tell you, the transformation is class. Some more pictures of the car can be seen in this
thread.
Super coverage, thanks for this nice thread.

My sentiments exactly, every thing said and done, nothing beats open spaces,
there is another charm when vintage and classic cars are around old buildings/venue.

The Alfa is indeed a stunner! And the way she's driven, will probably put modern sportscars to shame.
Allan is a magician, 'nuff said :)
And yes, SS80s and the early Amby's have been participating in the VCCCI shows for a couple of years now. Although this was the first year that they were probably seen in the forefront and even won a prize.

+1 to that. I was very skeptical about the venue and even had considered giving the parking lot a miss and just see the cars pass by on the road. But I guess change is necessary, and I hope newer venues, locations and routes are considered by the organisers in the years to come.

Sadly not, do not understand much of the two wheeled counterparts, so did not click any pics of the bikes around. Will check if any of my friends have. Attaching the only two pics of this Honda which I clicked coz it was a friends bike.
