Thanks for sharing such great pictures (including that of Nitro ) with us. Would be really nice, if someone could add the car details below each picture. That would educate people like me who do not have much idea about the vintage cars.

I have also managed to miss the rally consistently every year in Pune (always saw it in the papers on the next day).

Uh, I cant really make them out in the first pic. (ie. the shot of all the line-up with the school ground/building )
I guess the turquoise MDN car is a chevy (can see the logo on the front)....which one is the Desoto??

Yes sir(ji)! thats a Fiat 500C, aka bug fiat....IMHO the wheels would've looked better in silver if you didnt have hubcaps to go with them..
That reminds me- how bout some updates on your Fiat 1100 in that other thread??

Hmm...I guess the fiatwala has to be right in this regard! :P

But wait, I've a book on classic cars & it shows what looks like a period photo of a black 500c with GREY/SILVER rims.....maybe it was a custom paint job?

Well this is my grandmothers 500C in original paint. Hope that settles it.

It just maybe that some cars were offered with ivory/cream wheels.

Even I did my first computer literacy course at DB, Egmore during the summer holidays of 91. We in fact even stayed at the school itself for close to 2 months. Boy, was it hot then - we would take a shower and come out sweating

Yea got you.....just to clarify, I was referring to the grey/silver rims as custom paint job.
