I was waiting to see that car! Thank's Scooby! what's the history of that particular beast? Did you buy it in that condition or got it restored?

Also, do I see the headlight of an SL (500?) on the bottom left corner? Another one of your babies?

Oh okay. I took this picture on the first day of the Speed Run 2005. Your daughter and son-in-law had just arrived and were going to park this beauty. Thats when I took this snap.

Just came across this old thread after ages. Lot of familiar cars, including BHPian Harit's Dodge Custom Royal and Scooby05's fantastic 61 Chevy.

Can't help but ogle at President's fantastic 1100D LHD. Unfortunately he sold it less than a week before I met him a couple of year back, else I would have convinced him otherwise. This was before the days of the Fiat Classic Car Club of India.

Pure eye candy for the Fiat lovers!

The Fiat rekindles my memories of driving in Navi Mumbai on my Dad's 1100.
That was when i learnt driving on a Fiat.

In fact, there was never a bigger mistake I could've ever made in my life by selling this baby and I cannot forgive myself for it.

It was a mixture of circumstances, my ill health, lack of parking space at that point of time during monsoons and so on and so forth.. BTW, this car had a record of NEVER EVER seeing the rains and always sheltered indoors by me during my ownership as well as the previous First owner Admiral Jal Cursetjee, too.
I cared for her so intensely and intimately all along as if she always remained a newborn for me. And, there were times when my family was damn jealous and upset about that.
I remember the times when I used to even go searching for stainless steel nuts, bolts and washers while in the US of A for this so precious beauty of mine, instead of complying with the extensive shopping list from family members.
I miss her terribly and will always remain very sentimental about MRY 9501.

Thanks Karl, for reviving nostalgic memories of my "Rani".

Uh, Ram, when was this?? Was it before or after he had the 4-door Herald, which you'd mentioned earlier?? Was that car also in Bbay btw?

Rony, I understand how you feel! Sometimes it happens in life.
We are forced to let go of something that is the most dear to us, the las tthing we like to lose! I sold a couple of my own cars due to my own reasons too.......thankfully, they have gone to good hands!

Shyam, Thanks for your encouraging words.
However, I sincerely hope that MRY 9501 has gone to good hands which at this point am not sure.

on dear MRY 9501

I still remember the VCCCI rally of 2007. There she was - MRY 9501 in all her splendour. God, my heart had certainly missed several beats when I saw her. Didn't know any of you guys then, didn't know who Rony was, I wasn't even on team BHP then. Said to myself "hey, whoever owns this car, has great taste."
It was this car, which hugely re-kindled my passion for all things FIAT !!
Bravo 9501.
