This chassis of a late 1940's pickup /minibus is being restored. The wheel drums and tyres have been readied. It has the original front and rear bumpers. The original 6 cylinder in line petrol engine is also to be repaired and fired up.The body is salvaged and could not have been retrieved.
On this chassis is being built a 1930's body with sheet metal being shaped up.So what sort of car this will become?

Re: Some mod jobs done on vintage beauties

The car in Bollywood blockbuster Satte Pe Satta belonging to the seven brother family was badly modded.I viewed one song of the film where this car is shown "pyaar hame kis mod pe laya". the car is sliced from everywhere. the hood is missing. Its a late 1950's Impala undoubtedly! The speedo and meter console tell it all. Its a LHD car. It was sometime in 1982 or so when these cars used to be available at throw away prices. Today no one will mutilate such a beauty, as these command fancy prices.

Re: Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars

Not sure where best to post this photo, but wanted to share it.

Back in the early 60's I had a mini estate wagon that was stolen and later found
to have been cut off at the front and made into a "trailer"!

Re: Some mod jobs done on vintage beauties

I'm not to sure what this is, seems to be a Mini mockup based on a more modern car. Spotted on a shoot set.

Must say for whatever its worth, effort has been put into recreating the details.

The Fiat advertised as a 1951 model , has the older Millecento (number plate light atop it, no side aluminium strip), Elegant ( grille subdivided though and tail lights), Super Select (number plate lights at either sides, petrol tank lock) and Daewoo Nubira (three piece front grille) features. The scoop atop the hood and the bonnet scoops are quite an innovative idea.

Re: Some mod jobs done on vintage beauties

This is an Army disposal jeep that I spotted in Shillong day before yesterday. The doors are from the 540 DP, the windscreen wiper bases from the later Mahindras (CJ 500D to Major) and so on.
