Whitefield Classic & Vintage car rally October 11 2009, Bangalore

Here are some pictures of a vintage and classic car rally held yesterday in Palm meadows, Bangalore.

The 2 Beetle cabrios make for a particularly attractive pair - one of which belongs to BHPian 71convertible. I think I also see Tonrag's Morris.

Yes, that is a genuine Jaguar E-Type, regarded by many as amongst the prettiest cars ever built - and I'm one of them!

Hey! I second that about the E Type- also love the Jag SS100, XK 120, MK II, S Type, XJ -S, XJ-6 and several others from the Marque.

In fact, I m looking keenly for some scale models of all/ any of the above from Auto Art or of equivalent quality.

What a coincidence. I was down that road on sunday morning. I first see a green Austin and i think to myself wow, lucky day. I was in a hurry so didn't stop.

Further down i see MYV 1005 on the side of the road. DUH?? There has to be something going on.

Couldn't stop and further i see 2 more vintage cars. And now the pictures here.

No one here was invited? Or was it for vintage car owners from Whitefield only?

I was not in Bangalore, but the pictures were forwarded to me. From what I understand it was a private event.

Is that Blue / Black Daimler one of the famous Mysore Royal Daimlers ?

That black ponton too looks stunning any further pics would be appreciated.

As Karl said, it was most likely a private event.
And Sujith we did not have the time to go there too, as we had meeting with the event manager for our Fiats Club's next week mega event.

Sorry, I've been really busy lately to post much. The event originated when one of the PM committee members approached me with an idea of having a vintage car show within the community. He then approached a local collector SJ who has a large collection. We orginally envisioned about 15 cars and a few bikes. We ended up with about 30 cars and half a dozen bikes/scooters. Turned out much better than I expected. There was good representation from the KVCC.

Will post more pics.

While this was held in Palm Meadows. It was not intended to be exclusive. My bad for not posting here with a heads up. Sorry!! We will be making this an annual event starting in Feb.
