I meant this car - the original Maruti made by Sanjay Gandhi and his few friends in the back lanes of Old Delhi's transport nagar (errr....Roshanara Road?)

I think know something about the aravind car.
It was made by Aravind automobiles Thiruvananthapuram in 1983 with a Jeep engine and was red coloured for one famous Dr.Nair.
I remember seeing the car a few years ago in a petrol pump when I came to the city. Thiruvananthapuram Bhpians why dont you guys find out where this car has gone.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!! guy's the Austin Healey is stunning, as other cars. This is the second Healey I have seen in such a pristine condition, the other one is in Jaipur.

I have seen two of the original Maruti's, one in Bangalore being driven on the road and the second in Pune, lying with a welding machine company. Thanks God India spared this car!

I have a feeling that both the cars are one and the same. The Jaipur Healey had its origins in Bengal (ofcourse before that in UK

), came to Delhi, sold on to Jaipur. But there is another one with Doc in Bangalore, ex-Mumbai.

Also looking forward to pictures of the 630/680 engine Mr. Tutu speaks about. Apparently, that question still seems to be open. I was under the impression that this was settled as a 630 during the Cartier event. I wonder where this discussion will lead to.

I just noticed one thing and that is in the first post where this Jaguar is said to be a Mark-11.A slight correction the car is not a Mark-11 but a Mark-2.

Yes this is the same Austin Healey 3000 that came from Cal & is now in Jaipur with a very enthuastic collector there

Indrojit, Mark-11 is obviously written to imply roman numerals II (two), not eleven!
