Re: Best used diesel car under Rs 8 lakh, for a driving enthusiast? The thread I have been looking for!
I do not have the budget that OP has, limiting myself to 2.5-3L at the moment - I am looking for a diesel hatch/sedan with fun-to-drive quotient. Expecting this car to fulfill daily driving duties as well as the weekend short trip runs.
I have forever been in love with Ford machines and the Fiesta has been a dream car for too long (never driven one though) and I hear the pre-2015 Figo is great too in this department. EcoSports are out of my range - the cheapest one I have seen on online classifieds is 6+ Lacs and I do not have the finances to shell out such an amount at this time.
My location is Pune and I plan to keep the car for 2-3years.
My questions to bhpians -
1. is buying a 10 year old Ford today a good idea? All examples come with 70k+ odo readings and I expect they will likely require some repairs soon
2. Also how much would be expected to spend on getting name transfer and other post-purchase formalities done (I am trying to finalise between purchasing from Cars24/Spinny who take care of these and buying from dealers/owners who may not take care of this).
3. Are there any other cars you would suggest? I am interested in manual transmissions only, and expect to be the single occupant-driver of this car for the most part. I have only ever driven petrol cars regularly (currently drive a 2016 Tiago 1.2 Revotron Petrol).
This is my first post, mods please let me know if this is not the correct thread for this post. |
