Re: Help me with replacements for the Skoda Superb & Hyundai Grand i10

Congratulations for the XUV4OO. Looks really good in black.

For your 120 kms daily commute, I guess the only option that comes to my mind is a pre owned Tiguan TDI. It has the understated yet handsome looks, a spacious and comfortable cabin, the convenience of a slick and fast DSG, fuel efficiency from the diesel powertrain is quiet good and it is built really well. It is difficult to find an alternative to the Superb, however the pre owned TDI variants of the Tiguan / Kodiaq do make a lot of sense. All the best with the search.

Thank you! I completely agree with you, Tiguan / Kodiaq TDI definitely makes a lot of sense but unfortunately I still haven't found any mild used cars. Every car I came across in the Pre-owned market crossed a minimum of 1L kms. To be honest I am now in a mind set to wait until the new Kodiaq and Superb are launched end of this year (hopefully), I heard that there are possibilities for Skoda to even bring in the Diesel / Petrol Hybrid versions of both the cars in India.

Re: Help me with replacements for the Skoda Superb & Hyundai Grand i10

I am considering investing in a Quality Ceramic coating for our XUV. Since my wife is still new to driving, I expect the possibility of minor scratches occurring occasionally. Can someone with expertise in this area provide guidance? Additionally, if anyone from Coimbatore has experience with ceramic coating services in the city, I would appreciate recommendations on the best place to have it done

My observation after driving the XUV400 for 1200 Kms:

Niggles:

1. Front Passenger Door Closing: There's an issue with the front passenger door; it requires significant force to close properly. Despite a service check, the problem persists. Planning to visit the service center soon for resolution.
2. Touch Screen Glitch: On the delivery day, the touch screen failed to switch on after driving for a while and remained unresponsive until the next morning.
3. Indicator Beep Malfunction: The indicator beep didn't function for a few minutes this morning.

Positive bits:

1. Spacious Cabin and Improved Under-Thigh Support: Offers better comfort than the Nexon EV, accommodating a fifth passenger comfortably.
2. Upgraded Interior with Premium Feel: The 2024 facelift boasts a well-appointed interior with a light color theme, enhancing the premium experience.
3. Comfortable Ride Quality for City Driving: Handles city roads smoothly, effortlessly navigating potholes (though highway performance differs).
4. Dynamic Performance in Different Modes: Excels in Fast and Fearless modes, although handling in the city can be challenging. The Economy mode provides adequate performance for urban driving.

Areas for Improvement:

1. Lack of Seat Ventilation.
2. Subpar Audio Quality: Falls short compared to the Nexon EV's superior speaker setup.
3. Absence of Front Parking Sensors: A feature missed dearly by my wife.
4. Body Roll on Highways: Handling on highways suffers compared to the Nexon EV, exhibiting noticeable body roll.

Help me with replacements for the Skoda Superb & Hyundai Grand i10-kodiaq-booking.jpg

Skoda dropped this amazing offer on the Kodiaq model on April 24th. They slashed the price by a whopping 2.4 lakhs, but here's the catch: it was only valid for 12 hours, and you had to act within the first 24 minutes of each hour. I managed to snag a booking for a Kodiaq L&K in Magic Black during that time.

However, when I spoke to the salesperson, they mentioned that they were trying to clear out 200+ cars from the factory with this offer. But then I found out they actually had over 700 cars in stock, which is roughly the quantity they sell in an year.

Now, I'm stuck. Should I go ahead with the purchase, or should I hold off and wait for the festive season when they might drop prices even further? I have a feeling they might unveil the next-gen Kodiaq around that time, and I'm not in a rush to change cars right now.

Any thoughts or advice would be super helpful. Thanks a ton!

Hi,
I too am holding the Kodiaq Booking for now. Did you ask for a better offer or you have decided to wait? Any updates on launch timeline of new Kodiaq? If launched CBU it will definitely cost more than current one.

Help me with buying a new car

Hello Everyone,
I am looking to buy a new car in a budget of 11-12 lakhs.
The basic criteria is a comfortable ride and a comfortable seat as I had a spine surgery wherein my 2 lower discs have been removed.
Also the car should have a decent mileage. My driving consists of around 24 kms daily in peak traffic
Not a big fan of sunroof so don't want one.
I am stuck between Citroen C3 aircross and Ertiga CNG. C3 Aircross I prefer for the 17" wheels and Citroen's history of a good suspension set up. Ertiga CNG for its mileage.
Any other recommendation is a welcome.
My current ride is a 2007 Skoda Octavia Rider 1.8 TSI 20 V which I want to let go of.

I took advantage of the 19th November 2024 offer and booked the Skoda Kodiaq. The White Beast is coming home in the next 2-3 weeks. Even after test-driving the XUV700, Tiguan, Tucson, and several other cars in this segment, we couldn't get over the feel the Skoda offered. Only the Kodiaq provides a ride and comfort level closest to our existing 2nd Gen F/L Superb.

As mentioned before, I had a hunch that prices would drop further, so I waited. Finally, when they offered a ₹5 lakh discount, I jumped at the opportunity and booked the car. The same car, which was priced at nearly ₹53 lakh in Coimbatore at the beginning of the year, has now dropped to ₹44.5 lakh. This deal has made an already great value-for-money car an even better bargain. My only regret is that only white was available during this sale. My preferred colors were black, grey, and lava blue, but white was never an option. However, I didn’t want to miss this opportunity and regret it later, especially considering the next-gen model is expected to be launched at an on-road price of around ₹65 lakh in TN.

After reading all the reviews, user feedback, and watching YouTube videos, I strongly believe that this car won’t let me down in any aspect.

We are thrilled to welcome home the beast finally!

So finally, we have decided to keep the Grandi10 for my Mother in-law, my wife has bought an XUV400; I have sold my Superb to my cousin and bought a Kodiaq L&K.

Re: Help me with replacements for the Skoda Superb & Hyundai Grand i10

Hi Fellow Bhpians,

I hope you're all doing well. We're facing a couple of niggles with our XUV400, and I wanted to reach out to see if anyone else is encountering similar issues. Unfortunately, the Mahindra Service Centre hasn't been much help in resolving these so far.
The car is 10 months old and 15K kms on the ODO so far. Even though my wife's running is very less, to make better use of the car and to reduce usage of my new Kodiaq I drive it to my office atleast once a week.

A/C Issue:
The A/C suddenly starts blowing hot air and stops cooling the cabin. There's no consistent pattern; it can happen during the day, at night, on long drives, or even during short city runs. When we reported this to the Mahindra service team, they said they couldn't find the issue during their tests and asked us to bring the car in when it's acting up. But as you can imagine, it's nearly impossible to take it to them precisely when the issue occurs.

Wireless CarPlay Issue:
It was all fine until we were just using the Bluetooth for mobile connection. But after an update to the wireless CarPlay feature (done by the service centre), we started experiencing issues with voice cracking, delayed voice (around 3-5 seconds), and other connectivity glitches. This happens whether we use my phone or my wife's phone, so it's not device-specific. The service centre hasn't provided a concrete solution to this yet.

Has anyone else faced these issues with their XUV400? I'd appreciate any insights or potential solutions. Thank you!
