which car should I buy?

I travel 200 kms day. All highway driving(chauffer driven). The following are my criteria:-
  • Very fuel efficient(preferably diesel)
  • Extremely comfortable seating(stiff back problem)
  • Strong and safe
Currently using the Innova but high COG causes problem. I am over 6 feet tall. Innova was comfortable in the beginning 200 kms a day is just too tiresome in a MUV.

Need some suggestions on a good Sedan.

i would go for the newly updated sonata transform CRDI.
you travel on highways. so you need good space, ride quality, power, comfort.
sonata is a big sedan, its back seat is very good, its should be comfy and economical with the CRDI working its 150 horses. plus with hyundai maintanence wouldnt be a prob.

another option are, skoda laura and chevrolet optra magnum. but i prefer the sonata for comfort space. totally value for money.

My pick would be Corolla, Optra, new Sonata. I don't know about new Sonata but I heard its luxury big Sedan.

I love Optra for its comfy seats. You can check Safari too. Its too good If you are looking for best back Seat.

I suggest you hire these vehicle and see which you like and then only buy. Thats what I do when I buy cars. We should travel at least 500km to understand the car well.

Regards,

Ravi.

Diesel seems the obvious choice here. Optra Magnum, Sonata are most comfy diesel cars in their own classes( Diesel). Except for rear seat comfort Laura would have been the apt choice. If you have budget for Sonata i would advice you go for it.

What about Indica Vista Diesel? Its a medium size car and should give more mielage than a sedan. I have no idea about its rear seat confort but since its tata, it has to be strong.

I'd recommend a Sonata CRDi too. Seems to match your requirements the most.

If you didnt like travelling in the Innova, I doubt if a smaller car is ever going to suit you - hence no Optra/Octavia etc.

Thanks Ravi. I had the Optra for 4 years. Loved. it. 1.8 Max. The most comfortable car on the road. But I feel that the new Magnum lacks the space that was in the earlier models. Just hate the new look with curved HL.

Sonata Transform

I suggest the new Sonata Transform to suit your needs. When you get fed up of the car or plan to upgrade give me call as I would love to have one for a lower rate. Since the engine is shared in so many vehicles in India spares should never be problem.

Dear all,
I am planing to buy a diesel car. I check the new Verna (Diesel base model) & Fiesta (new ZXI model). I liked both, but people says that Ford spare and service is very costly. Please give me your valuable advise and pick me right choice from the above.

For 200 km, petrol is not an option and neither is a small car. If you drive, AT diesel with a comfortable seat seems the best option.

Optra has a diesel, but not too sure if it can go long with 200 km per day or 4-5,000 per month. As others have said, Sonata Diesel seems the best option (assuming that you may want a costlier option).
