4th-gen Audi A8 will not get diesel engine option

According to a media report, the fourth generation Audi A8 will not be offered with a diesel engine option. The new model is expected to be launched on February 3, 2020.

The new A8 is expected to get a 3.0-litre V6 petrol mild-hybrid powerplant. It comes with a 48V electrical system featuring a belt alternator starter (BAS). It enables the car to coast with the engine switched off. The car also has a start / stop function.

The new A8 is based on the MLB Evo platform. It measures 5,302 mm in length, 1,945 mm in width, 1,488 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 3,128 mm. The car gets a redesigned hexagonal grille with a chrome frame flanked by re-profiled LED headlights. At the rear, it gets wraparound LED tail lights with an LED light bar.

On the inside, the A8 gets a twin-touchscreens, ambient lighting, rear seat entertainment and remote controlled rear seat and an optional foot massager for the left rear seat.
