Default The Toyota Hilux Thread

Hello,

This is my second post; first was my introduction in introduction category.
I was asked for few pics and I must say that I am poor in pics. Never thought I would share the vehicle pics in a forum. Had I known it, I would have always carried a camera and pics that would do justice to the Hiluxes I drove.

Hillram,
Hilux does take corner well. In this trip the driver was new to Hilux and there was problem with tie-rod alignment. One side had more turn than the other. The Hilux surf has amazing turn radius beats everything, the only things that do better are tratcors

Amit,

This is in Nepal.

Nothing beats an old Hilux in offroading. Newer ones look like cars and dont have enough GC

Wow. Really nice to see Hilux !! I know very little of Hilux, my friends father has one in Thailand and he always says Hilux is the best vehicle when it come to taking on treacherous roads. I still feel they are the built like tank.

The whole world saw its toughness when Top gear tried to kill it or famously known a killing a Toyota

Muri Muri Dhanyabad SirAlec

I need to search for older pics but I am not sure where they are. I have uploaded a 2 videos in youtube.

One shows the road while the other shows the scenic valleys covered in monsoon clouds.

Hope you will enjoy them. It is my first uploading in youtube.

A warm welcome to Team-BHP. Lovely pictures. The roads though treacherous , seem like perfect territory for the Hilux. Keep the pictures coming.

Sudev,

The slope looks steep but there was just enough width for the tyres to fit in. few inches towards the slope and you are gone.

Got off the vehicle and surveyed the road and once deemed passable, drove it. No braking or revving 4-Low on 1 st gear and you will be safe. No revving, braking or sudden turn of steering wheel, and never look below to the steep cliff, just concentrate on the road ahead

The fact (it appears) is this is the way of your daily life. Unlike us back here where we try HARD to get into such OTR circumstances. You have a purposeful vehicle and a trust worthy name guiding you daily. Enjoy...

boy you need to have some serious nerves of steel to handle terrain like that! forget making sure your tyres are on track, what if it collapses??? after all that's a ton and a half of steel on those corners !!

We should be able to get old land cruisers part in Kathmandu. Nepal has lots of old toyotas, landcruisers, Hiluxes, corollas, and so on.
