Default 40-50k budget ICE for scorpio. Clean vocals priority.

Hi Guys!

I want to install a new ICE for the scorpio.
Would a setup of 4 Components+4 channel amp and 1 basstube+mono, be a complete and right setup. I am not a bass-head. And am looking for a very pure and clean output.
Also, I have read in many posts that a complete JBL setup gives very good sound without the need of over spending.
And if I go in for a setup from the Kicker company; which is much more expensive; would it sound extraordinarily different from JBL ?
I dont mind spending a little more. But the cost should justify the final output. I mean if going for Kicker would just give me a "marginal" better output, should I then just stick to JBL? Again considering that I am looking for more vocals than out-n-out bass.

Any sound advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Yeah as you said, Kickers are very costly, i have a Kicker ovals ES series, which is around 5k, which i think is way too costly when I can get for the same or better output in JBL/Boston/Pioneer, and price wise also lesser than Kicker. I think if am right lastest DS series ovals are priced around 15k , though i've never heard them. I would love to have an all JBL setup, but never heard an all JBL setup though.

Yeah, forgot, welcome to TBHP.

Thanks for the welcome Vino

By an all JBL setup, I meant all the speakers+sub+amps. Excluding the HU.

Hi Vib,
If vocals are of more priority, i think you can go for
2 components
a pair of ovals (6x9)
and a 4-ch amplifier....

you can do away with the bass tube as it will give more 'boom-boom'.

Hi Vib!

Is there any reason why you have already decided on a bass tube? Have you heard one somewhere? What about a box? If possible, try to compare both before deciding on that.

not possible. JBL does NOT make HUs. Becker (also owned by Harman Intl) however does.

Well actually not exactly decided on a tube. Just kept that as a probable option considering that a box generally requires more space.

I was thinking of letting the sub do all the bass, while keeping the inherent clarity of the components for the front as well as the rear (6")

I wrote based upon your requirement that you are not a bass-head

ovals give you a decent bass and suits for those who are more into vocals and clean output...

This is what I have experienced personally.

Thanks for the advice Bro.
Excuse me, but maybe I was unable to explain myself correctly. By not being a bass-head, I meant that 1 sub would be necessary, but not more than that. And since I would be going for a sub, then maybe putting ovals at the back wouldn't be necessary. Is it right ?

sorry at the outset.....but I've noticed that even then you recommend Kickers over JBL/Hertz/Pio etc on other threads?

Can you please care to enlighten?

Oh, I am sorry for misunderstanding your statement.

In that case instead of going for 4 components, I will suggest you go for 2 components, 2 coaxials and a sub with one 4 channel amplifier...

apart from that it also depends upon the kind of installation and the tuning done by the installers.....

Yea vib...u dont really need the rear coaxes..I got mine upgraded to Alpine Type-S but I can barely hear them over my front Illusion Electras. Would suggest you let go of them unless there are people on the rear who would like to enjoy the music.
Why don't you audition a couple of setups before deciding on yours?

Thanx again guys!

One question remains though...

If I go in for a setup from the Kicker company; which is much more expensive; would it sound extraordinarily different from JBL ? But the cost should justify the final output. I mean if going for Kicker would just give me a "marginal" better output, should I then just stick to JBL?

Also, please do suggest any other brand that you think would justify its cost, while not exceeding my budget of 40-50K.

Why dont you try to get Harmon Karden Infinity range. You will get solk dome tweeters in that. Silk dome are proven for soothing sound and vocals than aluminium dome from JBL.
