Audio system for Ford Fusion

Hi Gurus,
Let me intriduce myself as a dummy in this field. I have tried going through other posts but sounded to technical for my standards.. so you can imagine

So I am looking for a good audio system for my fusion. My budget is around 15K. So can you please suggest something??

No Jargons please. So that I can actually go and buy that stuff.

By the way i am in Hyderbad. So if you can give me some advice on the dealer that would be great.

Thanks
Apratim

Welcome to TBHP ICE, apratimg!

The Fusion's stock speaker sizes are 5x7". JBL has coaxials in the GTO series this size (about 5K) and so does Blaupunkt in their GT series (GTx572, about 3.5K). There are more expensive options like the Hertz ESK570 comps, but they will not fit in your budget.

Get a good HU like the Pio6950 (about 7K) and drop in 2 pairs of the JBLs or Blaus. You should be good to go in about 15-17K.

You can get the jbl speakers with B&W at sprocket but for pio HU you have to look elsewhere. The pio 6950 cost about 8k in hyderabad ....

You'd be lucky if you did manage to get any GTO8627 (that's the model number hydra)
I don't know if there's any stock. There's a shortage.

Contact Ambica (BLU distributer at minister road ) OR Deepak MS at 9849102143 you can give my ref...Pandey

BLU GTX-572 AT 2950/- (40W RMS/160W peak)
BLU OD-573 AT 5400/- (90W RMS/270W peak)

This is a best in class speaker very thin, ultra light fetched innovation award for the year 2005(i guess). Awesome sound.

I believe in one brand audio setup. Go for BLU THc OR GTc series components for front
I would personally recommend:
BLU Bahamas MP46 HU 10000/-
THc 172 (6.5") components for front (4750/-)
ODx -573 for rear (5400/-) youll get 5% discount on these.
This combi sounds awesome I can gurantee..

The size in front is also 5x7". Same size in front & back.

If you want to use 5.25" speakers in front (a whole lot more options, and you can easily get components too), a good installer will be able use an oval spacer (adapter) to fit them.

Thanks pandey.. I really liked the features bahamas.. although the indicated price range is a bit.
So I am thinking about going for bahamas and the GTX 572. No front speakers for now.. Will it be a good combination?

and Pandey I really appreciate the ref..

Rear speakers only? Nooooooooo! Get front speakers and skip rear speakers. That will be all right.

No. The idea behind installing a good audio is to create a sound imaging/stage. Installing just rear will kill whole of it and you will not enjoy your music. If you cant stretch for TH/OD series Ill say:
GTc 172 (6.5'') front (2950/-)
GTx 573 at rear (2950/-) But if you are power hungry then TH/OD/Velocity are the speakers to go for.
GT was launched keeping in mind as a replacement to stock speakers. Ill rate them like this:
Series Quality Price
GT * ****
TH ** ***
OD *** **
Velocity **** *
Although GT too offers good freq range/power combi its the woofer material and the technology that differs. Its IPP/papercone for GT and platinum woven material for OD it gives excellent bass reflex.
go for TH/OD if you have a future upgrade plan like Amps/Sub. If truly want a budget..budget...budget then GT is the best in class.

no idea bro... pioneer vis-a-vis BLU HUs. I think Pio gives you more beauty/EQ settings in the same price as BLU. To get those features frm BLU HU you gotta shell a lot.I think after Bahamas the prices go up exponentially..."Personally" anyday I would rate BLU HUs higher than pio (no offenses).
If budget is the constraint try for BLU mumbai/Monterry.

Thanks Pandey.. for answering all my question patiently... I really appreciate... I personally feel speakers are something which make/break the experience.. So I think I will probably go with OD speakers for back and GTX 573 for the front. I might go for all OD incase its feasible. For the head unit I am going with Pio 6950.
Thanks everbody for all the information, this has been truly a great experience.
