I have uploaded some pics of the HU. Clarity is not so good as it is taken from my mobile phone camera.

Congrats on the HU! The display in your pics shows the USB iPod source is playing, but there is no album art, iD3 tag info on screen. By choice (selected mode) or does it not do that?

Thanks Gunbir.

It does display the details of the track (song name, artiste and album name)
which is playing. In this case, the track playing has absolutely no info. Hence you don't see it here.

The iPod adapter is not required for this. The USB interface is good enough. Once connected via the USB, then you can control the iPod via the HU.
I guess the iPod adapter is required only to play the iPod videos.

Performance is good. Still experimenting with the features. However one small drawback I have noticed so far, is the time it takes to read the iPod. Sometimes it seems forever to get to a particular soundtrack that I need to listen to When i tested it at Satya's place, it seemed to take time in reading the CD's also. Not sure if this is the case with all JVC touchscreen HU's.

Yes, even he was of the opinion that JVC's take sometime to read. Maybe other folks with similar JVC units can confirm this.

The HU costed me about 24K. Got it from the UK. But I believe it is now available in the Indian grey market too, for about the same price.

Apart from the HU, I paid 28K for the remaining stuff which includes, the front components, Amp, Sub, Wiring, Boot damping and labour.

The next stage of upgrade sometime after October which would include Fibre encasing for the sub, new rear speakers and a monobloc for the sub

Not sure about this, because I do not have this problem with my AVX800. The disc reads pretty fast. Of course, my 40GB Hard disk takes around 25 seconds to read initially, but once loaded selecting directories, songs etc is a breeze. Will having an Ipod adapter speed things up?
