Thanks. I did the DIY on a new grille bought from a local spare parts shop, I have retained the original OEM grill for future use.

Thanks jose! I wanted the main grille done too, but removing the fins was making it pretty weak and brittle - had tried this once. Hence dropped the idea. A new, custom made grille would be an easier thing to do in a Lancer.

By the way, your Bolero is a real head turner! Nice job

Just wanted to know, have you treated the mesh with some anti-rust solution (redoxide)? Can you suggest any specification for the mesh?

Thanks Imran. I did not treat the mesh with any anti-rust paint, the mesh was already coated with some kind of golden paint. I simply sprayed the mesh with 3-4 coats of black paint, but since you mentioned I think its better to treat it with anti-rust primer first.
There is no specification for the mesh, you can choose whatever design of mesh you like. The only thing that I kept in mind was, the mesh should be a little strurdy and strong , so that it doesn't easily bend out of shape if someone pokes a finger at the grill.
