Next year I am buying automatic car right now most probably i10 if not Corolla AT which be driven by myself and my wife. i10 AT will be best City car with luxury feel! and ladies will love it. | i10 is the perfect car for women. All controls are very light and very friendly. Its easy to drive too because of its driving position. Plus excellent interiors. What more can a lady ask for? But be warned that if you are looking for performance, you will be slightly disappointed. Especially if you are looking for a Santro 'upgrade'. Probably a Getz 1.3 or Swift P might be a better choice here. Having said that, the i10 is by no way underpowered. It has a super-silent engine and the torque curve makes it perfect for urban runabouts.

| Senior - BHPian | I would say go for the Getz 1.1 as your Mom has been driving for 20 yrs. ALso you have mentioned that you are going to drive it. i10 is a bit small compared to the Getz. ALso the Getz has started selling well nowadays - waiting periods and no discounts. I think the Getz has been reduced by a further 20k after the recent announcements by the FM. So it is a good VFM as of now. i10 on the other hand is the latest car and winner of so many awards as well.

| Well, against the popular judgement here, we went for a Getz. the top end model fully loaded with Alloys, ABS, etc... The wood finish centre console looks absolutely hideous. Apart from that, it is pretty good. We got it in the best colour for a Getz . Passion Red ![]()

| Senior - BHPian | Well I did the usual round of test drives with a friend who wanted a hatch. The Getz is significantly better than the i10, especially in terms of ride quality and space. The 1.3 obviously has way more power too. The i10 has a pretty harsh ride over bad roads where the Getz simply wafts through. The hyped up interiors of the i10 didn't impress me either. Yes its better than the other entry lvl hatches but its nothing that great. Anyway the friend finally went for a Swift VDi. As a driver's car nothing matches the swift overall. The Palio has a wonderful engine but sucks in the handling front compared to the swift and ofcourse it guzzles :P. |

| Buying experience was very good. We bought it from Advaith Hyundai. The sales executive came home with one car. Mom test drove it. Got in and out of the car a 100 times till she was satisfied that she can manage without banging her knees or anything. We went for a small drive around our house and my mom was very impressed with the quality of the gearshift over her old Santro. We placed the order a few days later and the person came personally to the office to collect the cheque and get the papers signed and everything. We basically never had to go to the showroom at all. They called us up yesterday and informed us that the car is ready and we can collect it. We went and got it. It looks really really good in that shade of Red. I really love it !!
