Asianet TV is organizing an Auto Expo at Kochi in January 2013. The news is getting flashed through the group's news channel today. This would cover the entire gamut of auto manufacturers, OEM suppliers and other manufacturers of auto accessories and would be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium Ground, Kaloor. This is being held jointly with the state Bank of Travancore by Asianet.
This would be an event which the Kochi petrol heads would be looking forward to as an automobile exhibition of this magnitude is happening at Kochi after a gap of several years. There used to be a regular fare of this kind at Kochi earlier, being conducted then regularly by the Cochin Auto Two wheeler Association.

I googled immediately and located the website for the expo.

Asianet Satellite Communications Limited is conducting the largest automotive show in South India, Asianet Auto Expo 2013, scheduled during January 4, 5 & 6 at Kaloor Stadium Ground, Kochi. This is the first edition and will showcase the latest in automobiles and automotive industry including the latest trends, components, vehicles and act as a launch pad for new and future vehicles besides being the platform for generation of leads, one to one interactions and business enquiries. Asianet Auto Expo 2013 will also have special focus and emphasis on technological innovations in the areas of safety, environment and fuel efficiency.

It had facility to register as a visitor which I promptly did and a reply mail gave me a visitor id also.

The dates have been postponed. received a mail from the organizers today evening. It is now February 15, 16 & 17.

This is to inform you that the date of Asianet Auto Expo 2013 has been changed from January 4, 5 & 6 to February 15, 16 & 17 due to some technical issues.

Saw the ad on the ACV during December. Thought of coming , along with my friends . Is it any good ? Will there be any exotics Or will there be just outlets of showrooms and aftermarket shops ? Any idea regarding this ?

If it is anywhere near the standards set by Auto two wheeler Association organizes Auto Shows of yesteryears, it ought to be good. But organizing such a show needs lot of efforts.

Anyways, Good to see such an initiative at Cochin. Me and my friends were initially planning on coming, along with a ride to Cochin. But, still dunno if its worth or not ? Please do let me know, if you get any more info regarding the expo.

SBT Asianet Auto Expo 2013-2014

This was much hyped on the internet which made me curious to know what this had in stock for me but i ended up with a bunch of everyday cars and that too a couple of them.South India Largest Auto Expo? On what Basis? What a LIE.
There was some interesting bits too but it lacked content.

Check this out. I had earlier today been there and it is quite good but by no means close to the delhi expo or any other expo.I still can't believe that this is south India's largest expo.

How is the expo interms of the cars present ? Just the dealers or ?

No way you are going to get alloy wheels and electric mirrors on a taxi version. The car shown is ZDi

It looks like a painted (granite grey) bumper to me going by the reflections on the bumper. May be the original bumper got damaged in the last minute and they swapped with whatever was available to put the car on display!

It is certainly a swap from grey Ertiga. Usual black bumper on lower variants can not be this glossy.

Looks like someone tried for a change or replaced against a damage.

That's a ZDI variant with a sloppy paint job.Guess what they said there was no waiting period for any of the ertiga variants.
