Next time use IFTEX G if you're putting 87. It's an injector and fuel line cleaning additive.

However it's always better to go for 91. Difference is pretty clear. Well, atleast that's what I've seen.

To make things clear for everyone, can someone make a table with the Petrol brands in India and their octane rating?

You get Speed 97 at BP Ekayars, Venkatanarayana Road, T Nagar.
Costs around Rs. 55 / lit, I think.

I think so.. Yes.

I recently purchased a Baleno Euro 3 approx 45 days ago..

Does anyone know of the compression ratio of the engine..Would it benefit with a higher octane rated fuel..?

Been filling her with the 87 Octance Speed premium.
No probs till now. Will it be better if i use Indian Oil's 91 Octane petrol( which i think is Euro 3).

I think Compression ratio of Baleno is around 9.2:1 ..experts,correct me if I'm wrong..

And yeah,as someone said,it would be great if some bhpian could prepare a chart of various brand fuels in India along with their Octane Ratings !
Also,if someone could specify-which compression ratio ranges run optimum with different 87,91,93,97 octane fuels..

cheers,
sr

Thanks for the info.

The question that remains is that is it mandatory to use 91 or higher octane rated fuel for the Euro 3 Baleno.

Will there be any long term adverse consequences if i continue using the present speed 87 octane?
