Spoke to two Audi A4 TDI (Dec 2008 & Mid 2008) owners in Mumbai. This si the latest model launched and not the one discontinued. Both sold their cars within 6 to 4 months of buying them as they were not happy with the following
Nigling problems with the car and spares not available. One guy had a prematurely choked oil filter within 3800 km the part took 4 months (it remained in the workshop the entire time).
Ride too harsh/suspension not suited for our roads! Both have the 16inch wheels standard TDI pack despite which both guys said it was not good.
These are 2 unrelated owners who have owned Mercs & Beemers and have sold their cars at staggering discounted prices after such a short time. They both said there is something about the car that did not feel right.

Very hard to digest this from such a reputed car manufacturer.
Seems things are not going the right for this German Giant.

If someone is selling an Audi at a deeply discounted price, I would be interested. I know that Audis are not Mercs or Bee-emms and I love hard suspensions.

@Ravveendra: There was an advt 2-3 days back in Times of India classified (Bangalore) about the 'test drive' audi vehicles being available for some 'steep' discount.
Don't know about the mechanical problems but all VW cars (including Audis) in the US have loads of niggling electrical and electronic problems after roughly 40-60k miles.
You'll see loads of people selling 3 year old VW's and Audi's in the US as soon as they would start facing those common problems - check engine light on, electrical mirrors not working etc.
There are other passat and A6 owners who have reported problems as well and the ratio of problems against total units sold in India is fast rising which is not good. We don't hear (unless few report it) such issues with the CBU's though Q7, A8, TT etc I wonder why maybe something to do with the Skoda VW shared facility in aurangabad seems to be stretched
Isn't the A4 3.2 a CBU as well?
maybe but I have problem reports from A4 2.0 liter TDI customer and not petrol. I think the TDI is assembeled in India
AFAIK a 3.2 fsi with b&o, done about 5k kms sold for 34lakhs. OTR is 51 lakhs. It seems that resale is not too great on audi's in India.
Thats a revelation. In fact i know two people who bought 2.) tdis and are crazy about their cars,so much as to put the 3 series down. Anyways, if there are any more New Audi TDis for that price, im a buyer, harsh ride or not!!! Please let me know. Thanks
Well it seems in India still Merce & Beemer rules.
Audi some how lags behind.
I saw in a news about TATA is going to launch Jaguar also.
But still the reviewer & i both feels the Indian Jaguar is not upto the mark.
So, mean while its only between Merces & Beemers!

True, it took a bit of head scratching to figure out what it meant. But at least it got me on the thread. Mods?
Just two owners selling their cars might not be a good representative sample.
What I felt was that in the indian context, Audi buyers are the ones who look Specifically for an Audi itself not just for the snob value of buying an automatic status statement (read: Mercedes or a BMW).
What were the exact niggling issues that cropped up this soon? Hard suspension, one could have identified with during the pre-purchase period.
I've heard of the 2000-2002 model A4s having some issues, and the owners selling their cars off in no time (in the US, ie). They had the cars for about 4-5 months,with less than 6k miles on the odo.
Its surprising that the 2 owners faced similar problems.Might just be 2 odd cars out of the whole lot in India,I guess. Bad luck!
