Team-BHP - New Audi A4 Owners not happy with car

Audi is the fastest growing luxury nameplate in the world. In Germany, the new A4 has taken the sales crown from the BMW 3 series in the premium small car category. More importantly, they are enjoying higher profit margins than Mercedes and BMW. Obviously, Audi is doing something right. In terms of handling, I think the 3 series is still better than the new A4. However, in terms of overall experience, the A4 is right up there. Audi's turbo charged direct injection 4 cylinder engines (1.8 and 2.0 TSI) are the best 4 cylinder petrol engines in the world.

Man - Audis ? It almost sounds like they need their own Reliability Issues and Niggles thread now :) That too after paying astronomical sums of money.
Yeah, I guess Mercs and BMWs can continue to command a premium.

I suppose the power output of diesel vs bmw and mb diesel's may also be dampner as on paper and based on feedback from users the A4 is not really fast maybe that plays on the minds of the owners. Lets see what happens as time goes by the way there have been some A6 complaints as well so it is not just 2 owners.

I'm sure Honda would like to debate that!

Nothing beats the 3.2 FSI for driving pleasure, but the TDi is too plain-jane. Lacks the horses of the C / 3 and isn't a match dynamically. I'd wait until we have atleast 20 - 25 ownership surveys of the A4 before passing a comment on reliability.

I notice that most adverse comments for the great 4 ring marquee are from non-audi users. Audi is amongst the best engineered & loaded car - PERIOD. Needless to say I am a HUGE Audi Fan !!!

From whatever little that I have driven it, it a gem of engineering. From the engine to the transmission, to the ride (with PP2 225/50/16)

Cornering hard at 80-90 kmph is a breeze but results in some squealling tyres. The fastest I have so far gone is 165 - 170 kmph which is a breeze. I thought I was doing 120 or so till I saw the speedo.

The fuel consumption in the city is about 10 kmpl, highways got me 15/16 kmpl. With 100% A/c on.

I did have a blocked EGR valve (bad diesel) which was fixed & will be replaced free. Order placed by Audi in Singapore...

All in all a great car with the maximum features vs the competition. Worldwide I understand Audi is giving BMW a hard time. This is real time numbers not published in auto magazines.

What more can I say ?? Phew !!!!

Same here in Europe, (you'd think they'd do a better job in their homeland, but NO) but i heard the same thing about the new series of Benz...... This isn't a new thing and is not limited to the ones assembled in india.A business partner with us bought a Q7 with custom beige interiors and all the bells and whistles.But within 2 months the sunroof started acting up and rattling.then the bose sound system failed.and he was the most pissed off person.

he had spent close to 90 lakhs on a car which was acting up.and now he does not drive the car anymore.its suspension has just been changed.the pneumatic suspension had some major problem after 15k kms.

Luxury cars going cheap is also a phenomenon of the Financial industry going bust . No names please but we have a tie up with Hertz and they have offerd us a new version of Merc owned by a honcho of once high flying exec from from leading ex i bank at almost 8 L discount this was offered on lease transfer . I do not have that kind of money but their a lot of such deals abound on higher end cars like Laura / Camary etc. this is basically where outstanding book value is higher than actual market value and owners are looking to get rid of the cars .
