It'a smart move by Hyundai. Now any customer will think twice before going for Alto/M800.. the base model price is just 2.78 ex showroom in Bangalore. No AC.. No PS though.

Good move by Hyundai but one question will Santro give FE that of M800 ?
person buying non-ac varient will obviously think about FE first

Santro would give them more space and a relatively safe car. Intelligent ppl would compromise on the FE part.......

As per this link ABS is std. on all models!

What is the difference b/w Met and Non-Met? Which is better? I am thinking of XS or wait for price cut on Getz!

the intelligent people you are talking about will go for AC varient as in Indian summer now it is almost must
and not to forget Santro might be more safer but then again it is a bit expensive than M800
so those "INTELLIGENT" people might go for Alto Lx

well said...
Infact i would rate Alto as a more safer car than Santro.. Those doors give a good "thud"... and also Alto has a good safety rating..

Alto is too cramped. Santro hops around the road with such a pathetic suspension. too annoying. even on smooth roads it gives a "sailing on the ship" feel ! yuck!
