I don't think that Maruti Suzuki has stopped Swift's production as it's diesel version & also "GLAM" version is high on a sale.

Does this mean the DZire Petrol is off the shelf?

Since DZire Petrol had the same engine as that of Swift Petrol, will the DZire as well get a new KB series engine?

KB series retuned for Swift and DZire means a increase in Cost?

What will happen to the existing users who have booked the petrol engines and have been told a wait period of 3 months, will they get the new KB series engine in both Swift and Dzire with no extra cost?

Too many questions and too early i guess :-)

A classic copybook style case of
a) Improper Product positioning
b) Product cannibalisation due to a)

I see loads of ritz in chennai nowadays. Though i personally dont like the flat B*M. So i suppose it is doing well at the expense of swift

So the story is getting murkier and murkier

JKdas,
The Ritz is doing very well for itself here in NCR. 70% of all bookings are for Petrol model ( due to a significant price difference with Swift petrol). This is good for MSIL as they will now have lesser pressure for the Diesel engine. They can produce more Diesel Dzires ( I believe they have a bigger margin on the Dzire than the Swift)
Hope they use this breathing space to ramp up their Diesel powerplant capacity. Unlike earlier, there are a number of desel engined options available in the hatchback segment ( Vista, Punto and i20). Now people may not be willing to wait for 6 months for a diesel car.
