In the good old days of Fiats and Ambassadors, the float alone was a replaceable spare and I remember buying 1 for my dad's Premier Padmini for 20 bucks or so.
The problem was same, cracked float.

Mod Note: Just like we do for cars & motorcycles, let each gearless scooter (especially the important ones) have its own thread. We don't discuss the Mahindra XUV500, Maruti Swift & Tata Zest in one thread, do we? Then why should we have one general thread for all gearless scooters?

Individual threads lead to discussions that are more focussed, informative, enjoyable and easier to search.
