Wow! That's one very well cared for fiat there! Hats off for maintaining her so well. One question, the bumpers look like padmini units. The originals should be all chrome right? Was this car imported by you, or purchased from India? If imported, does she have the 1221cc motor??

Fantastic, majestic looks with little details preserved. A great example , maybe one of the few in India. There was a white 1100D with a left hand drive configuration in our city with original paint, but its not seen since 2002.

Thank you Shareef saab,

Your cars always are in such great condition. Do i presume this one is for sale........? Kindly let us know.

Some very original Fiats are now not seen, i had one eye on my Aunts neighbours Sky blue Fiat, Extremely original, pristine and beautifully well cared. Not seen these days, a later day's Santro has replaced the classic Fiat. :( sad.

But i still see some light at the end of the tunnel, my uncle's Fiat 1100D MEO 8200 is still available after years he sold it to his friend. Waiting my luck to get my hands on it.

Well you never know, when the time arrives

Nice. Very nice. I really like the color of the 1100 D in this!
Curious to know: How does the speedo work? Does the bar move as per the speeds?

Internationally Delights always had these bumpers, and always had a 1221cc motor. It was only in India that we got the older style bumpers.

The speedometer has a red ribbon which moves corresponding to the speed. Say if the car is traveling at 40 mph, the portion from 0mph to 40mph would be covered by the red ribbon. It is indeed a pleasure just to see the speedometer work !

And not to forget the red ribbon lights up at night when the instrument lights are turned on.

another brilliant example from wikipedia. this is a later DELIGHT (mk2).

whereas this one, of our fellow member cyrus is an earlier DELIGHT (mk1), which you are talking about.

see the difference between the front and the rear bumpers. maybe this later delight came as PRESIDENT in india with some minor changes. Fiat gurus do correct me if i'm wrong.

Wow a beautiful car, Again i am confused by the position of the battery. Again it seems to be in the path of the air duct, was the battery position changed during the life time of this car? Also can you post better and more detail pictures of the keys. Thanks and enjoy the ride.

Really appreciate the way this car is maintained for all these years since its import in 1965. The photos are also great and by the looks it is even well maintained today also, isnt it? This was later manufactured in India by the name of Premier Padmini and was a very popular car till 1998 when they stopped production. But I recollect an article where it stated that Premier Padmini has entered the Guiness book of World records for manufacturing the same model car for 30 years without any model change to the exteriors. Below are the photos of my Padmini which was the last lot before the closure of Premier Padmini and you can see that both the models (the one on top) and this one looks very much similar. Mine is a 1998 model and still running good. It has run only 46000 kms so far and the engine is in perfect tune. Only problem I am facing is the regular problem with the suspension bushes. Now in Kerala there is heavy demand for Padmini cars and you see a lot of them on the road now days.Truly, a great car.
