| BHPian | Hi Guys Here's yet another story of a BHPian stung by the ICE bug. The Objective: To have the best possible ICE setup (of course, on a budget) with as much of stock looks as possible. I do not say "Stealth" here as the sub/amp etc will be exposed. But have tried to have the system look as close to stock as possible. Had always wanted a nice ICE setup but was afraid of spoiling the virgin look of the car. After a lot of research (on T-BHP), I finally zeroed-in on the following setup. HU: Pioneer P-80 RS Front: Hertz - Space 2 way (K6L) Rear: Hertz - HSK 165 Sub: Hertz - HX 300D Amp: Audison - LRX 5.600 (5 Ch) Cables: Amp Power kit: Connection FPK 600 Signal Cable: Connection BT 6600 Speaker Wire: Connection FL 214O Damping: AZComp Fonomat - 20 Sq Ft Pylemat Extreme - 50 Sq Ft (approx) Sounds like a straight forward setup but only few people know how many iterations the list had gone through, swinging between 2-way to 3-way, 5-ch amp vs. 4-ch and monoblock etc. Thanks Gunbir and JB for being patient enough to answer all my questions and make things clear. Before I post the install pics, my special thanks goes to the support provided by my good friend SpeedZak and the interest shown by others like KB, JK, Jay, Wildcard and Nevertouchme. The installation was done by Anwar at Bangalore. Pics to follow, with captions. Sri Last edited by quicksilver : 2nd January 2007 at 15:41. |

| Hey did Anwar create tweeter pods for the components? Would love to see pics of these. I also want to upgrade my mom's NHC with components in the front. |

Anwar wanted to have these fit under the dash on a custom pod but we opted for this as this sounded better. |

| Senior - BHPian | Ahhhhhhhhh..... I'd heard a lot about this ICEd City and wanted very much to listen to it. But I couldn't make it for the Rumble in the Jungle meet. Zak was using your car as a motivation (emotional blackmail!) to try and get me to quit my job and come for the meet :-) Detailed damping huh? It is a good thing you got it done when the car was stripped anyway. No sense shaking up the panels and then getting the car stripped again and damped later in parts you didn't do first. Keep them pics coming :-) And I think you mean HSX165s in the rear, right? :-) EDIT: Mmmmm... More pics as I was posting. I love the way the amp has been shown off. Very classy and subtle, but bling enough. BTW won't that sub's monster magnet sitting right over the amp cause any problems? And, folks, Mallu ICErs RULE!!! Beat that all ye non Mallu ICErs. (Tool is excused for becoming a good boy. Gunbir, JB and Sam don't count -- like Sam says, ghar-ki-kheti for all of them). Last edited by hydrashok : 2nd January 2007 at 16:09. |

| when you said stealth I figured your tweeters would be well hidden. I was considering a custom install in the door (flush mounted). |

| Senior - BHPian | Quicksilver, nice clean install. I guess you got exactly what you wanted, right? I'm sure you probably had to keep Anwar restrained from doing his usual flamboyant style of install. Can you post more interior pics, and pics of how you have the rear seats over the sub? |

| BHPian | I did consider that and other options, but this sounded best and it fit in nicely with the black RVM pod so I opted for the angle mounts. |

![]() thats a pic of the rear seat after the installation. the sub can be seen if you open the Rear seat arm-rest. I will post a pic of that tonight. the rear-coaxials are covered with a 6X9 grille that is painted the OE colour so it does not stick out... you can see it on the top (will post pics of that too tonight). I did not have to say anything to Anwar as SpeedZak had already give him detailed instructions on what I wanted (in terms of under-stated and no BLING) but the amp was his idea and I had to give in because he was insistent... I like it though | |
