My first 4x4 vehicle Gypsy King

It was dream comes true when I saw a classified for Red Gypsy. I tried contacting the owner & came to know that he is in Vancouver BC Canada. I read his blog after looking at the advertisement & could not stop dreaming of riding the machine. I was on leave for few days as my brother was getting married. I decided to take a trip to Chandigarh where Gypsy was located. Woke up Amar82 (owner) in the middle of night & somehow cracked the deal. I guess it was just luck on my side. Finally drove it back to Delhi & attended my brothers reception. I am posting a picture, would need help in rectifying few small issues & adding few accessories to the vehicle. I am new with Team-Bhp so please feel free to correct me if I do something wrong.

Congratulations on your new ride, it sure looks amazing. Some more pictures and details(year, kms, mods) would be good. May I know how much you had to pay for this beauty?

Hi Harneet,
Congrats on the Gypsy!!! The best part about this vehicle is that its registered in Ludhiana! Did you buy it with the air con, tyres and all??? Please share the details...

@JAckSparrow; @Aparth
This vehicle belonged to a fellow Bhpian Amar82 and he has a thread in the 4x4 Vehicles section as well. The vehicle's restoration is discussed there in detail.

Thanks Harjeev, I agree the best part is the PB 10 number. Yes I bought it with Dominator tyres & everything.

The Gypsy has been very tastefully restored in 2009. Amar had spent more than 3lakh on the vehicle with all the parts including dashboard, steering wheel, bumpers, all lights, etc installed new. No expense has been spared.

1) 1.3L Gypsy King with Esteem Carburetor.
2) Brand new Booster Brakes
3) Scratch less 2K paint
4) Free wheels Hubs installed.
5) Brand new Dominator tyres
6) All electrical including the battery are new
7) AC is very effective and all the components i.e compressor sanden507 and superking cooling coil were purchased new.
8) New retractable seat belts
9) Power steering.
10) New 4X4 gearbox
11) NGK Platinum spark plugs

I have started some new work on the Gypsy & would be updating the thread soon.

Harneet was lucky as there were three other people interested and they were just waiting for RC because it was in ludhiana and they have told me to let them know whenever i had RC with me.
Harneet just came that day without any appointment and just called me in the middle of night, gave the money and left without taking the RC and any other document pertaining to the vehicle.

You were lucky that you didn't took any appointment.

Regarding Ludhiana number(PB-10), it was very very difficult to get. I had to use some connections to chief minister's office to get that done.

Amar veer, let me know too. Moreover, I think Harneet should get Alloys for this ride.

In Ludhiana you cannot register Army disposal vehicles. This was registered as an exception .

Only place in punjab where army disposal are registered is Zira(PB-47) so if you see a gypsy or a jeep with PB-47 its 99% Ex-Army.

+1 to tsk13, get nice alloy's

Amar I guess it was destined for me to get this Gypsy. Some things are just meant to be.

Yes Alloys are on my list however the priority is low & I am also waiting for the GYPSY OFF-ROADER ALLOY RIMS. They are not available at the moment.
My main focus is to get rid of the unnecessary sounds & replace the suspension with a soft SUSPENSION KIT. Your expert comments & suggestions are welcome.

A CFL suspension should improve ride and handling considerably.

A few bhpians have done that I'm attaching a link to Rossi's thread & the company making them:

Hello Maglev,
Thanks for the details about the CFL suspension. I have already ordered the Dr. NANO Rear SUSPENSION for my Gypsy. Dr. Kiran Pawar of Nano SUSPENSION would take another 15 days to send me the suspension. I guess I just need to be patient till the time I receive the new SUSPENSION. Rossi's thread is very helpful. I have seen few more options for suspension.

1. GYPSY PEDDER HIGH LIFT SUSPENSION KIT
2. GYPSY ROBUST RX100 HIGH LIFT SUSPENSION KIT
3. GYPSY GABRIEL GAS SHOCK ABSORVER

Not sure if they are worth the price, we are discussing more about the Imported Parts for Maruti Gypsy Off-roader on another thread; http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/4x4-ve...ff-roader.html
I hope it is helpful to all.
Regards
Harneet
