And this HAD to come from the driver of the Endeavour that looked like it had a few bottles of fresh kallu inside its tank and was fishtailing around from one side of the road to another like a drunken elephant!

Let me remind you about the Monsoon DRIVE, where the convoy was quite well disciplined throughout. atleast, till the high octane fuel came into play, it was disciplined.

the 4 lane highway always brings out the worst in us.

Drunken elephant? Pot calling kettle black?

we're all in srijit's baleno and cruising thinking of a suitable place to eat

Srijit: You know its a funny thing. After i bought it , near kowdiar, its light suddenly stopped working. the flasher would work, but nothing else. Funny thing, but it was working by the time it reached home. Was quite weird

All of us: yeah lol!

........

suddenly it goes dark

.........

srijit: $%$#$ it happened again !

and then we're on the side of a dark and deserted highway. we called up the numbers on the hercules sticker. the guy there literally washed his hands off us. We called around some folks we knew. went to all three maruti centers - popular/hercules/indus. not a soul.

then we thought of calling the maruti 24 hour service line. we asked them were to go. he said the folks who would be calling us back would tell us.

..........

we're looking at an open fuse box. HL domes 20A, FRH 15A, FLH 15A.. lit by the glow of a white iphone screen.

"its the blue one"

"no, no, its the yellow one"

"are you guys sure ?"

"I cant see anyway. who cares!"

we tried swapping out stuff, no luck. started flashing the lights.

At one point it started working! Hallelujah and we're off!

five minutes later, we're back to square one.

............

jkdas: Give me the keys!

.........

and there we are being thrown about at 120+ speeds in a car with semi functional headlights. jkdas uses the emergency flasher to rip the baleno dodging buses, cars and potholes alike as if he's driving a pregnant lady about to have a kid.
I on the other hand was on the verge of having a cow! Somebody should have told him , just because you are flashing the lights does not mean he has to drive like that ( oh well, i guess he was looking for an excuse anyway)

..........

jkdas: green, stop pushing my seat forward.

me: *gulp, sucking air through his teeth* ok. (stops pressing his feet forward , bracing for impact, and grabs onto the grab rail harder)

( for the record, srijit's rear seatbelts seemed to have been buried under the carpeting, and had resisted our attempts to excavate them)

You know the bit till now where we drove from tvm to alapuzha, and from there till here ? That was not a drive.

now this , THIS is the damn D R I V E !!!!
..............

finally we get a call from maruti on road service. locate the chaps who spend an hour and a half underneath the steering column, and confirms jkdas's theory that it was the HL relay that caused it.
Long Time No D R I V E! Calling Cochin/CBE/TVM - 30th Nov-img_2536.jpg
100 bucks later, we're back on our way. I'm impressed with maruti A.S.S . That was cheap!

jkdas: shall we do it again then ?

err, not today!

Factory resticted pot calling an unrestricted kettle black.

But seriously, that straight-faced comment on disciplined driving from you was a riot.

Since everyone is into Rainbows (including Hydra who didnt attend the meet), here are a couple of unprocessed shots I had (and I'm stretchng AirTel's GPRS network with pics):

Hmm, anyone think that's God's projector lens?

Or am I going mad? The latter probably.

So you were factory restricted and still kept up with and overtook a 2.5 ltr endy running at full tilt. thats why I said-pot calling the kettle black.
Anyways-I said, our drives are usually disciplined, I never claimed that my driving was disciplined
In case anyone is wondering-I never had to take the Endy above 120kmph. Really!Scout's honour!
I did change lanes a little more frequently and enthusiastically than what is the norm for a vehicle of this size, but that was only to maintain that constant speed
I also admit that occasionally, I had to convert the hard shoulder into the 5th lane of the 4 lane highway when confronted by drag races being held at 20kmph.

getting back to the topic of meet photos- most shots have been covered already, so no point in me posting identical shots. will try and find ones that are different from the ones posted so far.

@ rippergeo, couldn't resist.. All from fort kochi thru alleppuzha, I was hallf expecting to see the endy's tires making a path on top of my boot and roof particularly menacing sight your grill was , literally breathing down my poor elantra's proverbial albeit peted neck.

All in all , I had a blast, all started with the sight of steeroid waking me up at 6:00, with me dutifully getting ready in record time to leave towards our very own biofuel plant - ts15 aka the jasmine canopy.

Sight of two century plus characters showing up in a 2 ton behemoth with a fresh battle scar on its backside to lay claim on the entire early morning supply of ts15 only to be told that they are yet to get enough to fill our order

Instantly a fruit(apples and blackberries are fruit) appears in each of our palms to furiously browse thru teambhp. Once fuel arrives I see morbid fear on steer's face - man this will stink up the truck with parent transport duties in a day.
A devious plan is hatched to con one of the sedan owners. Yours truly escaped only because of prior knowledge of the plan, which ended up making a victim of the other well endowed elantra.. Poor veelubhai, god knows what he had to do to get the stench out of his boot.

Breakfast at kashi is a delite , with me for once eating a something healthy - a plate of fruit. With a customary pic of the toilet bowl mirror we are ready to go.
The bimmer is ahead and decides to do a small demo of what 500 nm on rear wheels is all about. Phew that was a sight. From then on it was flat out to the boat jetty.
Having created an all new parking lot for ourselves we say our greetings to trrk and on to the boat in 15 minutes. On to 6 hours of fun with vellam on the vallam which is on the vellam anyway.
I am told that my ice (mah big mouth) went from sq to pure db drag level spl at the end of the day. He he he..
@maserQ thanks for playing ghost (gracious host) for the after meet meet

Pics will happen once I can connect mah poor pc to an internet connection.. This post is happening via crackberry

Cockscrew coconut tree

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attach...56-medium-.jpg

The cork screw coconut tree by Steeroid is one the rarest finds on this photo/drive/waterway meet. I would have loved to have a shot at it too.
